Every day our uniforms look better

All of the new Nike uniform designs are ****ing terrible. I think that's really the point I was trying to get at in a roundabout sort of way. We lucked out that ours is the least terrible.

I think they did a decent job with the Vikings uniforms, very subtle and clean. I agree though, we did luck out. I am sure Nike's latest works has put the fear into fans if their team is due for a cosmetic update.

The Vikes uni would be great if it weren't for the lame, asymmetric number font.

Fortunately for us, the Dolphins actually ended up with the best custom number font... They could have done something insane like make it look all wiggly like it's under water. Dodged a bullet there.

Looks like the Browns are the next team up...

“We’ll have cutting-edge uniforms that link back to our history,” Scheiner told Bull & Fox of 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland on Tuesday. “I’m really excited about our direction. We’ve been working with the NFL and Nike for almost a year now. We have another year until we roll out our uniforms. I’d be very surprised if our fans don’t love our new-look uniforms.”

Not sure if it has been said, but the only thing about the unis I'm not a fan of is the blue horizontal strip at the top of the sock when we wear aqua pants. Just looks off.

What definitely has been said before is that we need more orange. I think the white unis are as good as it gets. The aqua jerseys/aqua socks looked washed out on TV and could use some more of that bright orange.

Looking forward to the orange jersey which they'll hopefully unveil this year.

When we have to console ourselves by having a uniform better than the Jags and Bucs -- the latter in particular looks like a pee wee uniform sponsored by Dunkin Donuts -- that just goes to show how meh everyone is on them. And for good reason, our uniforms are a great big bag of meh. I can't look at the logo without thinking about Awsi Dooger's phrase "motion sickness".

What's so odd about this is that the Jags and Bucs had two of the better uniforms out there. I liked both of them better than what we've been sporting since 1996. But it's like someone was on a search and destroy mission in both franchises, looking for things that didn't make people want to gag (and therefore didn't belong).

Sochi avoided the motion sickness. I don't know if anybody else caught that. The Winter Olympics were plagued by warm weather, which particularly messed with the ski conditions. At the jumping hill and nordic combined venue, the organizers spoofed the weather issues by drawing an image of a dolphin in the snow. It was there for the second week of the Games and it made me absolutely sick. The image looked exactly like our old logo, with the pleasing downward curved tail. I kept thinking that even the Russians realize a dolphin looks best that way, but somehow we found Mike Dee and his motion sickness version:

Anyway, I agree with both Walrus and SkapePhin. Tampa Bay and Jacksonville somehow screwed up some of the better uniforms in the league. I never liked the Jaguars' complicated logo but their original white pants with teal jerseys was one of the best combos in the league. They started going downhill as soon as they introduced black jerseys, then the dark on dark look, so I guess it was fitting they took the full plunge last year. I don't think even Andy Warhol would like their current look.

The new Tampa Bay look reminds me a little bit of the ghastly Buffalo uniforms that debuted about a decade ago, with the dramatic color separation at the shoulder level. Buffalo wisely dumped that atrocity a few years ago and now their uniforms are among the best in the league, IMO.

It's scary to undergo a uniform change in this era, given the people behind the brush. Class and simplicity is on holiday and I'm not sure how long it will last. It's kind of like people who bought homes just prior to the market collapse. These uniforms are underwater. I remember posting last year that while I didn't like the logo the entirety could have been much worse, given Nike tendencies if fully unleashed.

I don't care for the new Bucs logo.

Ours absolutely stinks. The colors don't seem right either. I know they said they were going to back to the classic colors but I don't think they have.

Our uni's look like glorified Arena league uni's. The SeaWorld Dolphins if you will. They look childish and amusement park like. A perfect "corporate" type logo.

Hardly a symbol of hard nosed football.

I was hoping they'd grow on me. The haven't. Not one iota.
