Every Tannehill Dropback vs Oakland

The use of formations and mix/movement of personnel by Lazor is thoroughly impressive. If we can maintain consistency and execution as we continue to open the playbook as the season progresses, we should be in excellent shape to reach the playoffs with a very good possibility of that coming from winning the division.

For a second, as I was watching, I thought this was every completion by Tannehill. Then I remembered he made like 14 in a row.

My favorite part of you posting these on Liveleak is the angry/confused LL commenters who are really offended by the fact that you have interrupted their regularly scheduled war porn / traffic accident gore with video of a sporting event.

They didn't want to pay Brees because he was 5'11 and had potentially a bum throwing shoulder. Big difference. He was labeled a successful QB prior

They traded for a Top 5 QB in the Draft because they gave up on Brees. Brees only had a good season AFTER Rivers was drafted.

kids learned to step up in the pocket completely different tape from his rookie year in that regard...steps forward in the pocket lets the wide rush go right by him...growth for sure...nice job...also he's learned to use his cadence to create offsides etc that should only increase as we play with faster tempo

another game not a bad decision anywhere on it...new offense no less...rare for sure...does a really good job of holding safeties and drop lbs with his eyes...eye discipline

anyone putting geno smith or ej manuel close to being at that level is crazier than hell...no other way to say it...

Thanks for the post, I rarely get to rewatch the game.
I made some notes and will post below.
I feel I am fair on Tannehill, the fanboys probably call me a hetr. I expect a lot bc I want the Fins to be great.

:28- He predetermined Miller here, bad decision. a quick out to the back on the sideline on 2nd and 10
:40- Bad throw here to Hartline. I'll admit after these first two early plays I was worried about RT
1:08- great climb up in pocket with eyes downfield. This is what has been lacking, goo sign
Wallace TD- looked like RT adjusted arm angle and avoided free rusher (first time I have seen this) I Like it
1:47- Fine, wish Hartline could break tackle or beat LB in open field
1:51- Worked out. But, I did not like the play at all. 3 slants all up top, basically forcing qb to predetermine. Would like to mix in a swirl route or deep route to come to if slants are not there
2:10- Good slide to get down once picking up some yards. Good keep to keep defense honest
2:31- Im fine with the 5 yard run there, looked down field first good job. Finally showing situational awareness. 14 point lead 2nd down, no need to force anything there
2:41- like this play. Green Bay does this too. Its a run call but he sees hartline for easy pitch and catch for first down
2:57- good movement, Great catch by Simms. Pass needs to be a little better with Sims that wide open. Simms did well to adjust to ball in air and angle upfield instead of flat and makes a great catch
3:14- This is "His" best throw. Deep out to hartline. When he makes this throw and steps in to it and drives it, wow its money
3:21- Nice run. Milelr should take note how he runs away from contact not to contact
skinny post to Matthews, Matthews trucks defender. Again he has no isse with the throws he can step in to and let rip in the intermediate range
3:42- Looking/ waiting for Clasy the whole time. Clay didn't get a clean release. Don't really like the throw, but he put it where only Clay could get it I guess.
3:56- Great design on screen to Thomas off the same look from Wallace TD. Good job lazor
4:12- Simms may need to sit down. Throw behind. But, throw came out quick before Simms really got into his break. Not too bad, may want to look elsewhere with clean pocket
4:27- man in RT face, but would like to see him put more air on that and let Miller find ball. That would have been a hige gain
4:50 Missed wr badly. But, liked the pocket movement again
4:57- I hope we have a fake and go built in there on the option screen look. Good decision to throw away.

ahh now i have something to critique from slk instead of constantly take his...i will have to take a look at this today...i would like to know what a swirl route is though???

I've seen him do this plenty. Last season, there was rarely a pocket to step up into.

I've seen this before too. He may not have the touch of Rodgers or Wilson, but he is not robotic in his throwing motion like Henne.

A swirl is what I have always called it. I would like a short or intermediate option that takes a little longer to develop in case hot read isn't there.
swirl is basically 5 yards wr turns inside like he is running a drag or in, and goes outside. I hope this makes sense, I am probably not explaining it great. But, u get the idea.

Fanboy,

I am giving him credit for learning some of the little things he has not done is past. Was not a shot, so calm down.

Just play like this all season RT and I got your back against any hater. And if not then not so much.

yes...we must incorporate swirl routes...run around in circles

It isn't running in circles Hoops. just an idea of a route for a secondary read. I do not like 3 wr up top all running slants. As you know, I hope u know, a slant must come out quick. You can't come off one and go to the other post snap.
Im glad the pretend personell guy found one thing to pick at, when he doesn't even know what a swirl route is

Some may refer to a swirl as a pivot. All it is is a turn inside, pivot and go outside
