I think it is very likely that we will see Lemon and Gus compete for the job next year and that we wont even make a run at Rivers, Brees, Carr, Kitna, or any other QB mentioned. IMO Lemon is Saban's guy. Is there any reason to think that he isn't? Why else would he bring the guy in?

What make you so sure that Lemon he's Saban guy?...only because we trade AJ and we got him? ....personally I dont think so....not even close!

I believe we will try to sign someone in FA. Any vet that can help. Then I'll expect our 3rd/4th rounder to be spent on someone to groom.

I can't see our current position for the draft netting us a QB and I don't see the staff trading off several needed picks for one also. So unless Quinn declared and drops to around the 10-12 spot. Who knows.

I agree, I think if Frerotte plays bette rin the 2nd half of the year he could very well start for us agian next year.

i agree on not drafting a qb we can always sign one... we have other issues drafting a qb will delay the process for another 3 years...and behind matt lienart there isnt a eli manning in this draft trust me...too many holes lets sign a qb

To get rid of feely. I hope gus is gone after this year. Their is no reason to speculate that lemon is his guy is their? It's not like lemon played for lsu or Saban coached him in high school. If lemon is good I'm all for it but I am very very supportive of Rivers.

We needed a third string QB to replace Feeley after he was cut for salary cap reasons, so I dont believe Cleo will be our guy next year!

Saban likes to use high draft pics on skill positions, so I think we could end up with a QB or a WR - I would rather see us go for a WR in the draft and get Brees or Rivers in free agency.

I would not be suprised if we drafted the best linebacker available in the first round as Seau and Thomas are too old although they are still doing a fine job, this team is about the future!

:)

there will absolutely be another QB brought in next year, but I highly doubt its a big name guy. That's not Mueller's style.

I wouldn't be the least bit suprised if we go into 2006 with Cleo, Gus, a third or 4th rounder and an undrafted FA, letting the chips fall as they may.....

This seems likely to me too. I still think there's a possibility of taking a big name, but I'm just not sure who it will be. QB is no quick fix, and there's no guarantee that bringing in a big name translates to our future success. We'll see what happens. I'm still optimistic though.

Wheres the cyanide? I may have to use it :rofl3:

I read an article in which Randy Mueller said that he believes that a team should draft a QB every year. I see that happening, especially this year after a lackluster performance at the position.

Actually, we WILL draft a QB next year. BUT they will not start. Our 2006 starting QB is already on our roster. Simply because there is no way another QB can come in and run our offense better than the guys that have been in it for at least a year...

he traded for cleo to get rid of AJ contract and to give us some more cap room in the offseason. I think we can all see, if we had an average QB our record would not be the same. We would be at least 4-4, and i think(hope) saban see's that too and will bring in someone so we dont have to sit through Gus BS for another year
