so what do you guys think? want scotty back next year? i know that earlier in the year most of us were ready to send him packing. however, it seems that since he's been on the sidelines our offense has been better. i'm cool with him coming back now, but i'd like to see 2 things change: 3rd down and more than a yard = shotgun for us. don't like that. also, linehan seems shotgun happy in the redzone as well and i'd like to see more runs and more formations under center in those situations.

Of course I want him back. Like you said, he needs to stop calling passes on 3rd and short in games where we're averaging 5 yards per carry. Other than that and the misuse of the end-around that he seems to have taken care of, he's doing a great job.

I'd like him back next year, but I'd also like a bit more smashmouth :dolphins: 's football.

well i think shotty in the red area can be a great set up for a delay or a draw or even a short pass to the tight....its a great weapon when used right...because in the shotty defenses think pass more than anything...

and i agree with you i think Linehan has earned his keep...the team has improved offensivly and the coaching staff as a whole has been a gem...Nick has done a heck of a job putting his staff together

I actually dont think a shotgun is all that bad in short yardage with our offense line. The shotgun is not an insult to Ricky or Ronnie, its just saying that our OL guys arent strong enough to get a good push, which is true. While they have done very well in pass protection, they really suck in run blocking. Our guys are all fat and no muscle...they may have good technique, but that wont get you a first on 3rd and 2.

lenihan knows qb's thats for sure i hope we keep him which i think we will he got a nice contract from us to leave minn.this guy is just as good if now better than norv they are both good but linehan speads it around more everyone is involed and the players like it cause we take more chances down the field.

i'll be ok with him returning, but if he steps one foot in the coach's booth to play madden '07 on the field, i want him gone.

I vote yes. He is very creative at times, and has lots of room to improve with a couple of more players.

He loves to spread out the D in the red zone, and uses some movements on the line to create confusion, but he just does it too much. And anything within 5 yards of the goal line should get one run at least.

I think they still need to improve the line, then he can have so many more effective options.

I voted yes.

He was really out of sync with the offense through the middle of the season. But the move to the sidelines changed that. I have liked most of what I have seen since that move. Bring 'em back! :D

I forget where I saw it, but the 'phins are leading the league in plays over 40 yards. Fits in with Saban's philosophy of creating big plays.
