Do u think the thing that ireland said was true and we will get a defensive person first or so u think he didnt on purpose to trick the other team



Wat i say about that is the other teams is still confused

I dont understand how a smokescreen like this would work. We are in discussions with Jake Long, and then he says something that goes against that? That wouldn't really fool any team. I think it was a real mistake, and we are planning defense.

1) To get Jake Long to drop his asking price.
2) To possibly get St Louis or Atlanta to trade up thinking we might take their guy.

That's how it would work. I will keep saying it, I find it odd to call a press conference the day after Long supposedly rejected their offer

yeah, im wit u. i looked at the video and realized the body language of jeff ireland and he just stated it as if he wasn't thinking about it. he didn't really mean anything about who he is going to select.

it's pretty obvious that JAKE LONG is the guy they have chosen. if they were just toying with JAKE via the contract negotiations, they would have been doing the same thing with RYAN or GHOULSTON or CHRIS. No, JAKE LONG is their guy.
 
This has been the most tight lipped group in the NFL. There was no slip ups. Ireland said what he wanted to say the way he wanted to say it. He knew the media would catch it. Ireland and BP are real poker players.
 
I swear, if Parcells or Ireland sneezed during a press conference, you guys would say it was an intentional smoke screen.

We are negotiating with Jake Long and no one else at the moment. So how can anyone be so sure we are definitely taking a defensive player?

Trade down is still possible IMO. And then taking a defensive player is feasable, but if we do, then you can just bet that we will be drafting three OL later.
 
I think JI has probably been working 20 hour days or the past month and just misspoke. The media jumped all over it, but I think it was just a simple mistake.
