This board is going nuts today. Yes we did get embarrassed and our season is over, but we all need to just relax. I suggest we all listen to Aqueous Transmission by Incubus to calm our spirits.:D

Now, I just want to say that these threads talking about cutting half of the team needs to stop. We are almost there, there is no need to just go out and cut half the roster and start over. There are some players who are under performing, we can all agree on that. But we need to look at players who are CAUSING the problems. Guys like Chambers, Booker and McMike may not be helping so much, but do you really think they are the sole reason for the losses? We've seen what each of these guys can do when put in position to make plays. The simply fact is that Harrington is putting them in that position. The cause of our problem is QB and OL. If we can get some better protection and get Daunte healthy, the rest of the offense will rise collectivley. This team will be fine, the pieces are there and we just need a few parts to be a championship team.

Now, first, lets talk about Chambers. He's not going any where guys. He's our best receiver and to get rid of him would just be done. There won't be a better WR than him on the market and getting rid of him just makes us worse. We need to fix the source, that being the QB, which will be done by Daunte.

You Harrington lovers need to realize Joey is done. He may be here next year, but has no shot at competing for the starter position. He would be a find backup to fill in for mayb a game or 2 but there is no way he can take any team to the playoffs.

What tight end will we find that's better than McMike? Maybe we could draft one but just dropping McMike and signing a new one will do now good. He's still a great athelete and can still make plays.

Booker is also staying here. He's been a pretty good target underneath and is a perfect compliment to Chambers.

Why do we want to get rid of some of our best players? The problem isn't the receivers and that was proven today by the way Joey played. Lets use a baseball comparison here. Lets say my team catches and throws it better than anyone, what good does it do when the pitchers can't keep the opposition in the park?

We need to rid the players who are causing the problems, not ones that just aren't helping them. These players include Harrington, McIntosh, James and Barnes on the offense. Mare also needs.
Guys like Chambers, Booker and McMichael aren't producing as an effect from the source. Why get rid of these guys when they aren't the cause of the problem? They may not be doing enough to fix it, but sometimes there is no fix to such poor quarterbacking.

This is a process guys. We all knew this season was toast from the 1-6 start. We are lucky the team was able to rebound and get back to respectability. But how can you say you don't see improvement in this club. The defense has some AWESOME vets and promising looking youngsters. The offense is just a few pieces away. Guys, chill out, we will get there.

WTF man....... How Dare You try to bring some sense and reasoning to this board. Don't you know that's highly frowned upon amongst most posters here??? LoL, but seriously..... good post!!!

I agree

I agree with most of what you said, except that Joey can't compete for the starting job. If he was given and entire offseason to prepare he would be better. I'm not saying I think he should start, just that he has the potential.

I also agree that this team is awful close but I think that our defense is where we should concentrate our offseason acquisitions. We need to improve the secondary, particularly another CB.

Finally, one of hte receivers has ot take the axe. Saban shouldn't stand for this. There have been too many drops that have killed drives and lead to tipped balls and turnovers. Saban also needs to find a way to motivate this team for the entire season and make sure that we don't start flat and kill another season.

Okay, that may have been a little harsh on Harrington. But I still see him with 0% chance of starting next season.

I agree on the cornerback idea as well. Will Allen doesn't always match up well with the #1, but he can handle almost any number 2. I would love to bring in a Nate Clements type.

The receivers, I think are fine. They all have skill and I'm not worried. Drops will go down with the better QB play.

Yep, and Daunte is our guy who will do just that.

You're right, it's been torture. You can thank Wanstead for the results you are seeing now. But the good thing is we've had pretty good draft and free agent periods and we are really close. The division record is definitely an issue. We have to learn to beat the Bills and Jets.

Preach on... It's rare to find someone with a level head on this board after a lost.

This team is not ALMOST THERE. Not by a long shot. Please don't. The sky is falling. I'm done with enthusiasm. I just want to vent. Leave me be!

Thanks, I tend to think rationally opposed to emotionally like most here. Some need to not post until at least a couple of days after a loss. Dolphins losses are a lot like being drunk. After the fact, you tend to say things that you don't mean and will likely later regret.

Actually, there are some of us who are realistic. This team is stuck in neutral and we have been saying the same things every offseason. This team needs re-building. JT and ZT will be too old to benefit from a rebuilt offense.
I'm not overly negative, but I've seen enough.

What about Matt Roth, Fred Evans, Channing Crowder, Jason Allen and Yerimiah Bell. That is a pretty awesome young defense. We also are young on offense as well. I see no reason to rebuild.

What do you think Nick Saban has been doing the first two years he has been here. You don't turn over 1/2 of the team's roster if you are not rebuilding. It is one reason Saban talked about continuity and not turning over the roster as much next season as he did the last two.

It's a process. The first year was almost a complete overhaul. Last year, did some minor tweaking trying to find the exact problems. Now we see our main problems and can build from there. We are almost there.
