Good article on the phins..taken from a number of prospectives, everything form the new stadium to the takes on the team, to DC staying in to work out even while others are on vacation, to just what are our chances of being more than a playoff teams, are we a serious threat to be more than just a playoff teams if we make the playoffs...depending on what maginzine you read. Are we really more than a potential playoff team..that's a good question, or are we one year away?

If we can stay healthy, I think we have just as good of a shot as any team in the AFC. I think talent wise, we're just as good as anybody in the AFC, sure some teams may be better at a certain postion, but we may be better at another postion then them. It all comes down to who's going to be the healthest at the end. When it comes down to the schedule, it really doesn't matter who we play. If you look over the past 10-12 years, there's been a ton of suprises along with a ton of disapointments as well.

Aside from the upgrade at QB I think the biggest difference in the fins now is attitude. We have had the talent for a long time we just didn't have the right attitude to win when it counts most. I think that's what Saban's biggest challange has been since arriving in Miami. You can have all the talent in the world, but if you don't believe in what your doing and why, you'll never take that next step. I think the way Miami ended their season last year was the start of the attitude change.

Also, the players know what they're doing this year. I was somewhat amazed how many players since mini-camp came out and said how lost they were last season and how they finally started "getting it" towards the end. That would at least partially explain our 6 game winning streak. All of them on the same page entrigues me most going into this season.

And that is very important, Mods, I just notice that this posted in someone's else thread, with a different title, please merge...

Back to the article, Jason8er, makes a good point of the players knowing the system and not thinking so much, and that's what bugs me about the secondary, they're pretty much be where last's year's group was at the start of the season, except for Daniels, Poole, Bell, and Tillman..S. Mitchell should know more, but hasn't done it yet. The rest of the guys may have to wait until week 8 for everything to click in.

Not to be a homer but I really see the Fins winning the AFC East...I think the Pats have fallen off, and the Bills and Jets will be struggling to win 5 games this year (maybe 5 combined?)

If DC is healthy we can beat anyone. The Steelers were very fortunate just to make the AFC playoffs last year and then they got on a roll. I think we have just as much talent as the Steelers, Pats, Broncos and Colts....if we don't win the AFC East, I still think we will win a Wildcard.
