Man I just saw his first touchdown pass today a dart to Joe Horn on a slant.Sorry If this is negative I just think what we could have had if we paid this guy. This guy does not miss 8-8 first quater against the Eagles D.I hope Joey plays well today I need some salvation

I don't think Brees would be doing anything behind our line, frankly. We should have drafted Jay Cutler and resigned ourselves to a year of rebuilding.

Im with you

I was thinking the same thing.... He's just a smart QB who manages the game so well. I was really hoping we got him. The saints uniforms almost look like his old Purdue uni's too! I hate to say but I am slowly jumping on the saints bandwagon as they're just a fun team to watch, and I never really liked the saints. Hopefully Joey can turn into a comparable QB for us!

There are a lot of what ifs....I am not sure Brees wanted to play in Miami? Ohhh well...life goes on.

Every time I see your posts you are whining that we talk about a particular topic too much.... SO? If you have a problem with that don't ever come back.... Better yet switch teams. I don't how it works in Mexico "amigo" but here in the US we ACTUALLY have freedom of speech and we don't consider taboo talking smack or praising our own team. NUFF said.

Yes he did. We were his first choice and we blew it because Saban didn't want to pull the trigger after the doc's told him something was not right with his shoulder(looks fine to me). I also think Saban didn't want to pay for him and didn't think he was worth the money he was asking, does he look worth it now? Hell yeah! So insted we took Dante who still can't read defenses, can't run the way he used to, and is on the bench right now because he's not healed. Now what i am wondering is what these oh so famous doctors who said Brees would not heal as well as Dante are going to say after this one? The worst part about it is that we all knew what the hell Dante was playing like before we got him and we still choose to get him anyway. You think we would get it right the 2nd time around but some people never learn...

No matter how many times this topic has been posted it will continue to be posted until Brees stops producing which i don't see happening anytime soon. It's hard not to look at the Saints and see what we could have had if we shelled out the money. The Saints are 5-1 partly because of Brees and him being able to lead his team. Can you honestly say you were happy when you heard we traded for Dante insted of getting Brees? Can you honestly say it dosen't piss you off to see him light defenses up every week and us struggle every week to put up a TD?

who the hell are you?

Saints fan here - Drew Brees is one of the reasons the Saints are 5-1. He's the team's leader, doesn't make mistakes, distributes the ball. Sean Payton is also calling plays to Brees strength. But overlooked in all the Brees, Bush, McAllister, Horn, and super rookie Colston hype is the play of the Saints OL. They've allowed 6 sacks in 6 games. They've faced the Falcons (decent DL), Bucs (DL used to give the Saints fits), Panthers (awesome DL, 1 sack), Eagles (DL leads the league in sacks, had 0 sacks). The OL has gotten stronger every game. They struggled with run blocking early but have gotten stronger as of late. Brees helps them out by making quick decisions with the ball, it also doesn't hurt to have Deuce McAllister and Reggie Bush either. Finally solid ST play and a much improved Defense has this team winning.......
