Ex-Argo Theismann calls Williams 'disgrace to game'

Yeah there was a thread on this earlier. Joe's ego has gotten in his way most of his career on and off the football field....his last name should be pronounced THEEZ-man, but he changed it to rhyme with Heisman...that alone should tell you about his ego.

Sorry I didn't see the other thread. I do agree with Joe about this subject when is enough....enough. Joe may have a large ego as most of these players do but at least he was clean and doesn't want to see the game tarnished by some of the ego-maniac players of today.

I thought most of you would enjoy this.

Argonauts take a shot at Theismann over comments

The Canadian Press
TORONTO (Jun 3, 2006) The Toronto Argonauts got back at former quarterback Joe Theismann last night.
Three days after Theismann criticized the CFL club for signing suspended NFL running back Ricky Williams, the Argos made light of his comments during their exhibition game versus the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
In the second quarter during a stoppage in play, the Argos ran an ad on the Jumbotron at Rogers Centre with Theismann wearing a helmet with the old A emblem on it. Out of nowhere, a giant pencil then appeared and proceeded to rub out the A, after which the words 'Happy Now Joe?' appeared, drawing a big cheer from the spectators on hand.
On Tuesday, Theismann condemned the Argos for signing Williams, saying the move was a "feeble excuse" by the Argos to sell tickets and that he was ashamed to have worn the A on his helmet.
Williams signed a one-year contract with Toronto after being suspended by the NFL for the 2005 season.
