Ijust dont get it why everyone thinks we need another tight end we have 5 on the roster and yes i liked Randy Mcmichael but ever post i see everyones crying for a tightend explaine it to me if u can?

I'm fine with 5.... good to have a few going into camp.... see what happens

I'd rather just have the TE to block and occasionally catch a pass in the red zone. Having a special TE like Tony Gonzalez is a luxury, not a necessity IMO.

Have you seen the numbers on the guys we have coming to camp? Most project Martin to be the current starter. His numbers:

6 years
87 rec
766 yds
9 tds

The TE he is replacing, McMichael:

5 years
283 rec
3096 yds
18 tds

Is it really difficult to see why we need to upgrade at TE?

im fine with david martin at TE.i am not worried about our TE's , im worried about our recievers. i want to see chambers put up good numbers again and get some players to start catching the freaking ball

Because not one of the five is starting material its that simple. We could have 10 mediocre TE's and it would not make the position any better.

For what? In an offense that uses a TE as a receiever more than probabaly any offense in the league? Not likely.
It's amazing how people jump to certain conclusions regarding this offense when we DONT know how certain players or positions will be used but I would be willing to bet that if we have weak ends that End play will not be a primary focus of our offense.

Just because in peoples minds that a coach comes from a certain system doesn't mean that if said coach wants to run a variation of that system
that it cannot be done because it is against"the system rules"

GOOD COACHES FIND THE TALENT ON THE TEAM AND WORK A SYSTEM TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THERE PLAYERS STRENGTH...AND IF THERE IS NO STRENGTH AT A CERTAIN POSITION THEN I DOUBT CAM WOULD MAKE THAT A PRIMARY FOCUS OF OUR OFFENSE...and if he did he would have to be an idiot!!!

The dolphins offense will work just fine with David Martin. If Martin is healthy, he can play to the level of a pro bowl TE, again...if he's healthy.

It doesn't matter how many players at a position you have. It matters how good they are. Also regardless of how good at a position you may be you should always upgrade it if given the chance.
