Omar Kelly made an observation yesterday that indicated that the defensive coordinator was sending a lot of different players creating pressure which even allowed big Ferg to get a sack.
I hope these packages are used during the regular season because I have always admired the Steelers and Eagles Blitz packages (in this area I catch quite few of their games becasue the play the Ravens and Redskins), particularly the way they fearlessly send people and make the Q.B. make quick decisions, which often leads to mistakes.
The question is do we have the players to make it happen. because if you don't get there things could get ugly pretty quickly.

Peace........................

I've seen and read about a few of these packages from those that know them but I won't discuss specifics on a public forum. Channing Crowder in a radio interview said that Pasqualoni has told them they plan to bring a lot of pressure this year with blitz packages and Channing alluded to some exotic blitz packages in another interview where he said they've only installed basic stuff so far but he's "skipped ahead" and read toward the end of the playbook installs and he "can't wait" for when they get to some of the stuff they'll be installing later.

Your the man CK, thanks for the info. I am another who have lways loved the steelers, ravens and eagles exotic blitz packages. If we can get pressure up the gut, it has been proven that it is the way to beat Brady. Not to mention that is a confusing defense for veteran Qbs to read, much less a rook like Sanchez!

Not just Brady. I don't know if you watched the Hall of Fame game the other night but Kevin Vickerson backed starting guard Andy Levitre right under Trent Edwards' nose, and as a result he wasn't able to step through the throw and his lollypop was picked off by the Titans defense.

That's Kevin Vickerson, the former Dolphin, btw. He's a good looking backup over in Tennessee. Still a ten cent head, though.

Kevin Vickerson was huge, too bad he tore his ACL here, good late round value.

I agree. There are few if any Qbs that can really handle pressure coming directly up the gut. P. Manning is pretty good just bc of how fast his release is.

Now if you ask bills fan, its no big deal bc it was the first preseason game....my take is it's huge bc it wasnt even technique or communication that killed him. He was physically dominated! Unless he's going to get A LOT stronger in the next 4 weeks, the D-lines of the AFC East will eat him alive.

You mean Levitre? Yeah that's a problem for me if I'm a Bills fan. Levitre just wasn't physically strong enough.

The Bills looked like a college team that borrowed Terrell Owens for a few series.

Their tackles as well, they had a real hard time with any kind of speed rush the titans brought from the outside. The LT was completely worn out standing there with his hands on his hips trying to breathe their in the second series...they look very unathletic, which will be a real problems with the defenses they are going to see.

Their no huddle didnt impress me yet. Still wern't getting the play off until about 2 seconds on the play clock, and looked to me to use the same snap count every time.

Looked more like they wore out their offensive line than the defense.

Getting pressure will go a long way in helping our young CB's develop. By taking away time from guys like Brady will allow them to jump on the ball a little bit. I'm sure with the questions over our seconday over the past season i guarantee the trifecta made it a priority to improve and get more consistent pressure up from.

I really like how our defense is developing overall!

Yeah, I forgot about the Ravens.....I guess I'm trying to forget because I only live 15mins. from their stadium:lol:. Ed Reed can bring the heat when called upon and must mention Ray Lewis showing up on crafty Blitz's as well. The Defensive coordinator for the Saints (can't remember his name) also loves to bring the heat.
Can Channing be an effective pass rusher or is he to valuable in pass coverage, particulalry on Tight Ends, to send up the gut? I would love to see him get 5-6 sacks this year.

Peace...............................

I remember back in the wanny days with such great players and we would just stay in a base d the entire game. Then teams would run motion and bunchs and kill us. I would yell at the TV blitz god dammit, BLITZ. I loved how the good teams in the league brought the blitz. Eagles, ravens, Pats, and steelers all had great blitz packages. Will be nice to see us doing the same.

Greg Williams is the name of the Saints defensive coordinator. I hope we do bring some more exotic blitzes because if you don't teams start to catch on to what your doing.
