Expect The Fins To Continue Picking Defense As Draft Progresses

The problem there is that if you bring in a young quarterback in 2020, he will struggle. I expect at least one offensive line pick early.

Yep.

It’s defense all the way, maybe with a small sprinkle of developmental OL in very late rounds.

There is no way we will spend much currency on protecting Fitzcake in 2019. Build the D and let the O lose games for us so we will have a legit chance at a high pick in 2020.

This is the way to build your team and tank all in one shot. Our Defense will be better, but we will lose games because we won’t be able to score worth a damn.

Fitz will take many hits, and I’m ok with that. That’s just the way that Fitz’s cake (and O-Line) crumbles

Disagree, can't believe our coaches would be that shortsighted, we have Imo a very hoid RB in Drake that is ready to break out, but if you don't fix the line, the only thing breaking is Drake, which will mean eventually need to again add dynamic RB to the list.

I agree there will be more defensive players picked, but there will be at least two players from the list of Tackle. Guard, Center before all is done.

.
Easy. You sit him behind the Cake

Well, that's just the point! You sit him behind the beard all year and how do you evaluate him? how do you know if he is who you thought he could be when you gave a 2nd round for him. No...you have to play him. And with our current O-Line he will be killed, So again....not a fair way to evaluate the guy.

Drake has some versatility and things but in terms of overall production he's just a guy. San Francisco has about 4 of him on their roster. A lot of NFL teams have a few. Drake isn't a reason to call the pick done, especially since all we have behind him is Ballage who can't read his blocking well enough to succeed consistently.

We have no clue what he can do, considering he has not been allowed to be the starter for a year yet. what we do know about him is, it's very rare to get behind the LOS, he has explosive speed, enough power and heart to get that extra yard or two when caught behind the line, and has averaged 5.4, 4.8. and 4.5 yards per carry.

We really don't know how good he can be, considering the most carries he was given was late in his 2nd year, when he took over from Ajayi, and was considered one of, if not the best RB in that time frame.

Drake averages 4 YPC by getting twenty on one and getting nothing on 4 others. That's part of why he hasn't gotten a bigger chance, with as little ability as this team had to convert third and long, it was very risky giving him a lot of carries because he is inconsistent at just following his blocks and generating a couple yards to give his offense a better chance. He tries to hit too many home runs.

I do agree that he was pretty good his second year, but he regressed last year and made decisions like a backing running back instead of a guy you could rely on to give twenty carries and have him help out your team on most of them.
