I, as a young fan of the Miami Dolphins, believe that the very best thing to come out of our spectacular turn around is going to be the fact that for the first time in 5 or so years, we have earned the right to have high expectations. Win or lose this week, what it boils down to is that we will have something to look forward to for seasons to come. What I have gathered from this season is that we are no longer at the bottom of the barrel of the NFL.. but deservingly so, the cream of crop. :woot:I decided to make this thread on account of a much needed celebration. A celebration to the fact that we, the once lowly Miami Dolphins, will be considered top dogs for seasons to come!

i like your thinking and your thread. the only thing i would like to add is that it doesn't get any easier. this year this team was to have no expectations to deliever 6 wins let alone challenge for the playoffs. free agency, the 09 draft along with training camps will determine how hungry this team will stay once this year ends. sparano will keep them hungry, the players still feel they are not respected. wherever we go from here in this season remains to be seen, but as you said, no longer is that loser label on us, that has shifted to the lions, chiefs, browns, bengals, rams and raiders.

Thank you, and I agree 100%. With free agency and the draft down the road, it brings on a good feeling knowing that the foundation has been set for a winning team.. and on that we will build on.

As much as I don't want to type this, or see it next summer when training camp is about to begin; but how many analysts and pundits are going to name the Miami Dolphins as this year's version of the 2008 Browns? Berman, Dilfer, the ghost of Sean Salisbury to name a few.

Miami certainly needs a strong offseason this year to solidify the weak spots on our team.

We Definitely Still Need 1 To 2 Good Drafts To Remain Atop The Afc And Be Considered An Elite We Need To Win A Plyoff Game If Possible This Year And Have 2 ,3 More Playoff Runs With Ofcourse Good Drafts In Order To Establish Consistency... Perfect Example Those Browns They Had No Expectations In 07 They Finished 10-6 And Then This Year The Expectations Were Atleast Playoffs By Midseason They Were Done.!

We Need Consistency And I Think Sparano Has Learned The Importance Of Starting From The Bottom. Beefing Up The Lines. That Is Wat Parcells Has Done His Whole Career And That Is Wat He Did Wiht Us N This Past Draft We Got A Bunch Of Linemen In The Draft And Started Fromt He Most Important Positions "the Lines"!

Les Go Fins..!

I agree. I got a great deal of flack earlier in the year for expecting another crap season after starting out 0-2 and looking like we were regressing in all facets of the game. I still fail to see how people could look ahead to a playoff bearth on anything but blind faith. Sorry, that's just not me.

Now, however, I can see the jelling of the team, and instead of regressing, we're progressing. I feel it's not off base to expect good/great things from this team now.

I agree completely. I love reading Previews of the season and seeing us being mentioned as top dogs instead of last place losers.

I know the only Dolphins you've known have been the lowly Miami Dolphins. But believe me when I tell you that the years you have followed them is not the norm for the Dolphins. I've always expected more and the last 4-6 years have been like a bad dream. This team and it's history is right up there with the best of the NFL. The playoffs had been the norm for us. However, making the jump from playoff caliber to Super Bowl Champions has been the sticking point for the 30 years that I've followed them.

Ur Right Sherif. I Been Watching Them 17 Goin On 18 Yrs Now. And Playoffs Were Always A For Sure Thing Almost. But That Switch From Playoff Material To Superbowl Hasnt Happened Much In The History. Hopefully This New Team And A Couple More Drafts Can Hopefully One Day Build A Dynasty And Put Alot More Great Years Once Again...
