• ESPN's Chris Mortensen said Bill Parcells has told him that ``the critical factors when he's looking for a cornerback are good size and speed, an ability to ``turn and react quickly, instincts, ability, toughness. Will he tackle? Will he jam the big physical receiver? It looks like Vontae Davis fits that pretty much.''

• NFL Network's Mike Mayock said at times, Davis is ''as quick as any cornerback I've ever seen. What distinguishes him is his physicality.'' . . . FoxSports.com's John Czarnecki wrote ''half the teams in the league had him rated ahead of Malcolm Jenkins.'' . . . ESPN called Davis ``the best pure cover corner in his class.''

PAT WHITE

• Kiper: ``I contend he's got to be a wide receiver for the Dolphins. Chad Henne is your future. This guy has to help you some as a slot guy receiver. He can't just be drafted here to be your Wildcat quarterback.''

• ESPN's Todd McShay: ``I don't think Pat White was worth the pick this high. You can't expect him to be a full-time wide receiver, and that's the problem I have with this pick.''

• Mayock: ``I love this pick. And if you're betting against this kid being a big-time quarterback, don't. Big arm. More accurate than I thought. Do I think he should play Slash for a year or two? I do. I want the ball in his hands.''

• NFL Network's Jon Gruden: This is a great pick for Miami. He is an electric guy. He is going to open up a whole new venue of offense.''

SEAN SMITH

• Mayock: ''Unbelievable size for a press corner. He's comfortable in press coverage. When you put the tape on, there is no trepidation.'' But . . . ``He misses a lot of tackles. At 6-3 ½, he ought to be more aggressive with that big body. That's one thing Tony Sparano is going to demand an upgrade in.''

• McShay: ``He's one of the most versatile tall defensive backs I've seen. He can play corner, safety, has potential as a return specialist. They get a value pick.''

i think its quite obvious what Parcells is doing. Last year he went after the lines, this year hes going after the Air. (CB, WR)....dont be surprised if our next 3 picks include TE, WR, S. id love to bring in Rashad Johnson or Chip Vaughn...or even Deon Butler for WR. Or one of those tight ends who havent been picked yet.

Overall, pretty good comments. Anybody (Mcshay) that doesnt like the White pick needs to understand 2 things. 1) another team would have taken him in round 2 and 2) he will add multiple dimensions to our wildcat. It will be very difficult for opposing defenses to gameplan for us.

McShay and Kiper are both ***.

Mike Mayock has emerged as the preeminent evaluator in the broadcast arena and his feedback is worth 200 McKipers.

They all have thier good and bad points. People have a tendency to like the evaluator who agrees with them the most.
