10 dbs is quite normal for a NFL roster. Still extremely early. Don't see how you cut 2 safeties with only 4 on the team. You could be right, but I could see it being Bell . . . although they don't wanna do that. We aren't nitpicking these small salaries yet.

i think marshall starts at fs, what other salaries are we going to cut? mcdaniel?

i don't see the signing of Marshall as a precursor for shifting Sean Smith over to safety.... Smith is the NOT the player you'd want to serve as your last line of defense' and he's certainly not a ball hawk... i really like the Marshall signing, and i think he'd fit in well opposite Davis as our starting CB. As far as switching Smith's positions, didn't we already try that? i like hard hitting Rashad Jones at SS, and i wouldn't be upset at all if we looked to the draft to fill our need of a starting FS... as for Sean Smith, he can juggle his way out of Miami.

I see Marshall as a nickel corner or free safety. I've talked to several Cards fans and they say he is good in those roles but as a starting corner has trouble with speed receivers. Of course that is all 2nd hand info, I haven't seen him play much.

If he has trouble with Speedy receivers then i dont want him playing Nickel. Either way I believe he was signed to play a mixed role of FS/CB but primarily FS. The comparisons I have heard for him is Brock Marion.

I'll take a Brock Marion comparison any day!!! I like Marshall due to his versatility!!! If he can play similarly to Marion; this signing would be worth the money he is getting paid!!!
