I don't know what everyone else thinks but to me this is a terrible decision if made. I think the current NFL scheduled is perfect with eight homes games, eight away games, and one bye week. For them to extend the regular season they would have to do it by two games because if not there would be an uneven amount of home vs. away games. Also, I think they would have to extend the draft by another Round, allow more players on an roster (Currently 53), and increase the salary cap. Why? Two more games is going to give teams more injury problems and in some areas such as Running Back a team will need to carry an extra player. Two-back NFL system because a neccisity rather than a luxury. I live life by the philosophy that if it isn't broke don't fix it... Why mess with it? What are your thoughts?

NFL - is a a business where Money is the No 1 goal
More games = More Money for players and teams
More games = More fun for fans

What am i missing!!

They have been talking about this for some time. That leads me to believe that it WILL happens sooner or later.

The NFL will have to increase roster size to deal with injuries, because they will increase and cap space for the additional players. One thing I don't like is if teams will keep stars out of games that aren't essential to win.

Another thing, players union will want more money for playing in more games. This along with the additional palyers will make the cap shoot up.

I dont like this move at all. I think the schedule works perfect as it is now.
The preseason works perfect, four games to ramp your starters up, while giving your backups live game experience. Thats somethign Money cant buy.

I love watching preseason games, I love watching the backups and/or guys you just drafted.

I am really not liking alot of the changes the Commish has been spearheading since he took over. Some of the fines are really ridiculous, as are some of the rule changes.

Their is a reason why Football has become the greatest sport in the US passing baseball which was the official "American Pastime".

And it just seems to me like they are messing with something that wasnt broken.

I agree 100%. I understand the NFL is a business, but at some point is that business or product becomes inferior because it gets too watered down because of injury and wear and tear. More players means players that would normally not make a roster now making one, it would cheapen the product. By making an inferioir product it would do more harm than good.
I will put in this caveat. If they have to increase it, make it 17 games and take away 1 preseason game. Then the NFL can say it is in honor of the only undefeated team in NFL history, 17-0 equals perfection.

They won't increase the roster size in order to give the also rans a better chance.
Too bad Goodell is a young guy. Wonder if he and Brian France are related.
Both running their organizations into the ground.

This is a better idea.....then the commissioner

As a matter of fact....
3 pre-season games is enough
Then give every team a week off at the beginning of the season

allowing College Football opening dates on Sunday to play
game,This would happen the week b4 labor day.

Then allow every team to have 2 bye weeks off.
One week is staggered, While the other week
is a intermission during the 8 or 9 week for every team.

This way you can pro-long the
season without add more game ,and risking more injury.

Maybe I should be the commissioner

I think Mia4ever ,
should become the next commissoer...

On Madden 2010..

Turning it into flag football. Used to be a mans game.

I dont see how hes turning it into flag football, if there is a rule change its usually for the better, most of which is to protect the quarter back who is usually totally open to serious injury.

I fail to see the line of thinking here. Just exactly how are more Dolphins games bad???

I would like to see an extended season - keep the regular 16 game schedule, but add a second bye week, remove a preseason game, add more playoff teams and an extra playoff round, and remove the "media week" prior to the Super Bowl.

If we do this, we can keep the same number of 16 regular season games, and achieve the financial goals of an extended season.

I think the NFL should go back to a 14 game regular seasons schedule. The best teams were in the play offs. With a 16 game schedule half the time it's the healthiest team. We should want what's best for the sport and players. There are more injuries with a 16 game schedule, it can only get worse with 2 more games.
