What would the consensus be on signing Will Demps from the Ravens for safety?
 
How about Travis Daniels at FS? Thats why we drafted him...
 
why move travis to safety when he had a very good season at CB??

makes no sense.

That's NOT why we drafted him.

Man I love how one media person's opinion starts a snowball. He was never drafted to be a safety and you'll never hear of him being moved to safety. He was drafted to be a CB and was training there from day 1 even before Poole's injury.
 
That is why we drafted him. Travis Daniels played Safety in college. The only reason he was moved in college for a little while and in the NFL is because of injuries. Had Will Poole not been injured Travis Daniels would be playing FS right now. Daniels has done a great job so far don't get me wrong, but he doesn't have the speed to keep up with WR's. He has gotten lucky many times this season when he has been beat by faster receivers. I love TD and think he is starting material. However I think he should play FS.
 
how about a guy named Nate Salley... starting safety from Ohio State
 
IMO Saban wants to address the secondary through the draft.
 
Will Demps is garbage. Even the Ravens fans around here cant' stand him, and they are nothing but homers.

Fair enough. Didn't see a ton of Ravens games this year, so I was more looking for info than lobbying.

T. Daniels can't tackle good enough for a safety. You gotta have a physical presence back there.

Demps isn't the answer. Can't find the link but read he has been a dissapointement and big hole in the Ravens secondary. Ravens will be looking hard in free agency or draft for another saftey to go with starters S Reed, CB McAllister & Rolle. Especially with Reed a free agent in 2007. Don't think there's any way Ravens let him go, but never know with the salary cap.

Depending on how good that safety is, that secondary could be very scary in 2006.
