I keep seeing the dolphins adding 2 ol(Faneca & Adams)as well perhaps 2 WR(K.Johnson & Berrian) I understand that Adams & Faneca are older and expensive however with the cap space to add these much needed players I feel it will be done.

Now for those that say why spend that kinda money on 2 players when this team is 2-3 years away, well the first reason John Beck if the question as to wither Beck can play or not its to be answered its absolutely a MUST that the OL is upgraded.

So while these additions may not turn miami into a playoff contender it may help the development of the QB that might take them back to the post season.
The history of young QB's development is always tied into having a strong OL,in fact I recall Shula drafting Richmond Webb and Keith Simms directly to protect Marino....now Beck isnt Marino but a young qb needs the help of a strong OL.

As for skill positions I feel K.Johnson and one other veteren perhaps a Berrian or the wideout from arz who's name escapes me might serve well with Ginn and what Im sure will be a draft pick at WR.

As for Defense again this team has 44mil to use if the want/need so Im sure they can find a player or two(NT & S) to add to the defense then I would expect that the draft will net the most help to the defensive side of the ball.
A look at the offense revels that if you believe that the FO is atleast willing to give Beck a season to show them his worth then the O is not in as desperate need of youth as the D.
With Beck,Brown,R.Williams Satele,Carey,Hadnot and Ginn there is some hope and talent on offense.

I am not claiming this is the direction they will go just to me a common sense approach to helping the young QB have a real chance to succeed.

I think if we are going to go after Alan Fanca then we will no re sign Rex Hadnot

Adams may be a good pick up because with this years draft being so deep at LT, he might not get the money he really is after. As well as the Parcells link, we have a good shot at getting him at a discount vs what could have been.

My gut tells me that Keyshawn Johnson is gonna be a dolphin, i have some thoughts on this but i will wait to see if it happens first.

There are conflicting reports about our salary cap room. Most reports still say we are $35M under the cap, not the $45M that Armando Salgeuro reported. Keep in mind that our draft picks are going to take more than $10M. The salary cap jumped about $10M this year. So, salaries are going to rise. Alan Faneca will surpass the $7M per year deal that Steinbach got last year. And we may have to overpay to get him to come to a 1-15 team. He'll be getting at least $8M or $9M from us. A signing that big will preclude us from any other major signing, such as Flozell Adams. Plus, an Adams signing wouldn't make that much sense. This is considered a very strong draft for offensive tackles. It looks like we'll be able to draft a starting caliber OT even in the 3rd round.

Not true. MIA "better" not be cheap or play hard/low ball with Flozell. If we do, DAL will just re-sign him. Think about it. They first expressed interest in re-signing the "Pro Bowl" LT and then they decide to franchise Hamlin instead. This means that what DAL is doing is "gauging" the interest Flozell will get to decide what type of contract to offer him. The same thing that SD did last season with Kris Dielman. They decided "not" to franchise him only to re-sign him after they gauge what the rest of the league threw at him.

So unless MIA wants to get played "again", like they did last season with Dielman...they better pay Flozell "handsomely" and don't play the cheap/lowballer that they needn't not play this year. Sheesh...we have the MOST CAP SPACE than any other team in the entire league...why in the world should we lowball? C'mon, dude. This is Wayne Huizenga your talking about....

NFL dot com officially confirmed that we have $44mil under the cap and we are the team with the "most" cap space, AT THE MOMENT. Then, the only reason we will be actually at $36mil is because soon joey porter's $8mil roster bonus will kick in. And it is a guaranteed roster bonus. So we "will" be at $36mil afterall. Unless, BP decides to restructure the roster bonus into a signing bonus...which will then lower the amount to a prorated amount.

But they don't need to do that. If they keep the roster bonus, a roster bonus...they are better off in the long run, since his prorated signing bonus will be smaller.

I guess if people think it will cost 8/9 million to sign A.Faneca then re-signing Rex looks better and better. I have ZERO interest in paying that much money unless he was 26-27 right in his prime. This is exactly what kills your cap, then V.Carey decides he's younger and worth more when his contract is up, now what. We could resign REX and draft B.Albert for less money and I'd bet nobody would care about not signing Faneca after the 2008 season. It's one thing to give 5-6 FA's good contracts it's another to overpay someone just to sign with us. Every year top notch FA O-lineman are available usually because their on the upper side of their careers, why don't we draft well sign good FA's and when were in the situation that were contenders year in and year out then we can make a big splash. That way these guys may take less money to be apart of what were trying to accomplish.
