FA dolphins to test market!

this means we definatly will lose crowder and possibly even carey i don thik he rest will get big offers i thinkcarey has to be the top pririty followed by bel

Mnt. Vernon and Bell have both been bi contributors throughout their careers with Miami and I would like both of them back. Especially Carey because the offensive line is a very important thing to this team. When we get a good-great offensive line, we will flourish with the talent we have at runningback. Bell has been a part of a lackluster secondary for most of his career but he has consistently been a bright spot for us.

I say why let quality players leave since they are so hard to find in the first place. Bell and Carey will be the priority and the others will be allowed to test the FA waters and come crawling back after they recieve offers equal to or less than the Dolphins have offered from lesser teams.

i definatly expect us to sign carey and bell back i think the rest are replaceable and i for crowder i dont really no how much he wants but i would not over pay him he is a mediocore player

We don't need to overpay for marginal talent.

Our team was good because of the TEAM effort this year. Obviously I would make Carey and Bell the priorites with Crowder the #3. Crowder, Goodman and Hill are replaceable via free agency

I'd like to keep Goodman and Bell...Goodman had some nice games this year and we need to keep Bell....I'm iffy about Carey...he didn't have a very good year and it was a contract year for him so what does that say about his motivation?

Ozzy rules!!

Pretty misleading title in my opinion, both by the threadmaker and the Sun-Sentinel. Nowhere is there a quote from an agent or player saying they intend to hit the FA market and test the waters. Rosenhaus does not even run his mouth, as per usual, instead saying that talks are merely preliminary.

I'm not surprised Crowder is not the priority, for the reasons he stated himself... He didnt make any big plays. Not one in four years. Thats a problem, Channing. I find it funny he would even bring it up, as it makes him look pretty foolish. Not to mention the fact that I'm sure comments like this to the media are not the right way to get this regime's attention (in a good way that is).

i say when FA hits...let all but Bell go...Crowder's replaceable,Carey&Goodman i'm still iffy on,and Hill can walk as far as i'm concerned...the reason i'm iffy on Carey is because this was his contract year, and some to most players...not all mind you...but some to most play lights out in their contract years to garner a better contract with their current team or a new&better one with a new team and Carey didn't...so that has me wondering about him, which is why i'm iffy on him...

IMO Bell is a "must" keep, a "need" keep would be Carey and Goodman.. Actually, Goodman might also be a "must" keep... Hill we should keep for depth only and upgrade the FS starter... Crowder can gooooooooo

Terrible, lazy writing on the authors part.

We have ~month until FA actually hits. Until then we have exclusive negotiating rights.
I'll get worried when that time hits it we do not have Bell and Goodman locked up. If not by then, they are getting handed their shipping papers.

Drew Rosenhaus, the agent who represents Bell and Hill, said negotiations between teams looking to re-sign their own players typically heats up around the NFL combine, which begins Feb. 18.

"It's early. Real preliminary," Rosenhaus said of his discussions regarding Bell and Hill. "Right now we're feeling each other out."

So basically this isn't for sure yet.

And for the record, we're in no position right now to say who is a must resign and who isnt. We dont know the plan. We could let Goodman go, and on the 27th, sign Asomugha. Or we could let Carey walk, and on the 27th, bring in Gross.

Not saying they will or will not happen, just that we cant really say whether letting a guy walk is a good or bad move. The draft also plays a part. Maybe we draft an even better replacement. The offseason is all about evaluating these options and making these decisions.
