on the bomb boston caught which was followed by an obvoius facemask boston is stripped of the ball and it is recovered by NO. the announcers said that if the ref had not blown his wistle(SP) that NO should have the ball. Am I wrong in saying that a penalty should not be able to cause a fumble. that would be like saying if i kick the qb in the b***s and he drops the ball its a fumble and we just lose 15 yards on the play?. makes no sense to me

I'm not so sure about that. The Saints likely would have kept the ball, but there would have been a 15 yd penalty from the spot where the penalty occurred.
