And you can't deny it.

We should feel *blessed* to have Harrington as our backup, and everything that has been said about him during game is true. The smiling shows it. This guy is starter material put in the right posistion as a backup to a solid pro bowl starting QB in Daunte Culpepper.

While Culpepper and other acquistions during the offseason have been great, Harrington is the cheddar. We can count on this guy, we don't have to worry about Culpepper getting injured and our season going down the toilet. Joey is stout. He can engineer drives, make hairline passes, lead receivers. And if it came down to it I'm sure he would run for a few yards in desperate situations.

When the Dolphins make the playoffs this year, Joey Harrington will have some kind of influence on that; gamesaver clutch moments.

Horrible Starter, The Leagues Best Backup, Joey Harrington.

Harrington could've started for us when we first got Ricky. Then again, Wannstedt was still in charge and no QB does well under him.

i dont know, in the category of young QBs who haven't really shown their potential as a starter... i might prefer kyle boller... i think hes got it, he just needs more time, but i could be wrong...but im happy with harrington, i dont care if hes the best or not, it works for us...

Doubtful...but he is one of the better ones.

Best Back-ups (in no particular order)
Matt Schaub, Joey Harrington, Brian Griese, Kyle Boller, Trent Dilfer, Luke Mcown, Sage rosenfels, Gus Frerotte...

Unproven back-ups w/ promise
Matt cassel, Tony Romo, Jay cutler, vince young, matt leinhart, aaron rodgers...

I agree with you, i like what i have seen from him so far.
If he keeps it up its going to put us in a great situation, can you say high draft pick.

I agree that Harrington has looked good, but what really irks me is I think he's starting somewhere else in the league as soon as next season.

Joey has said some great things lately about his situation ... wanting to enjoy life and not just be football ... warm fuzzy stuff that I'm sure the rest of you guys have read too. That attitude of his is our only hope of keeping him. He'll have to restructure his deal and take less money than he could elsewhere ... simply based on his happiness level playing for us a backup. He's mentioned that he's not really materialistic, and yes ... his wallet got pretty fat from that original rookie #3 pick contract, but realistically I don't see him staying. Because of free agency, the days of the Don Strock type backup are over. Heck, even Strock left eventually.

no one mentions lefkowitch's backup gerard, hes gotta be up there too as a top tier backup

I don't know if he is the best, but I am much more comfortable with him now that I was at this point last season. He seems much more relaxed now than he was in Detroit and if we can get some of his confidence back, we may well have a solid backup for years to come or good trade bait.

Panthers Message Board: "Yeah, we got torched and scored on by Joey Freaking Harrington, how embarrassing is that? Are you serious?"

This goes to show the mindset and attitude of silly fans who blame Joey for playing on the Detroit Lions. They are gonna get their lunch handed to them by Mr. Harrington. :cooldude:

Horrible starter? Not really - a good quality QB who started for a horrible TEAM. Remember, the game of football is a Team sport? Now that Joey has found a decent squad I am rooting for him to get playing time. Yeah Daunte is the Man -- but after this preseason a LOT of fans are interested in what Harrington brings to the table.

I am very excited about our QB situation this yr. I dont know if Joey brings to the table of what a Garcia,or Dilfer would, but he's alot better then most.

Harrington has been very good, more than anybody could have asked for. IMO he has shown enough to be listed among the best backups. I wouldn't put him in the category of a good starter though b/c that would require the silly assumption that Harrington was blameless for everything he did in Detroit. The situation there was a factor but so was his handling of/reaction to it. I'm very enthusiastic about our current QB sitch.
