The meetings were confirmed by Brees' agent, Tom Condon. He declined to characterize negotiations but said a deal was unlikely before Monday at the earliest, with Brees planning to remain in Miami overnight.

"I'm not going to talk to the Dolphins until [Monday]," Condon said

posted from espn headlines.
this means hes is proabably showin drew and his wife around town, at the moment letting the town and influence him and they wont even get into contractual talks till tommorrow, at least according to his agent. so were all waiting here refreshing hopin for something that isnt going to come till tommorrow at the earliest.

Ouch. I feel like a worse person for having chuckled at that comment

If Brees signs with New Orleans, it would be a massive mistake. Realistically his trip to New Orleans may have been a bargaining ploy. If he plans to sign with Miami but plays like he's considering New Orleans then he knows there is a very good chance that he will get the best deal possible. If Miami has to try to outmatch another team he wins. Tom Condon is a good agent, he knows what he's doing.

Saints | Brees wants $10 million per year; Saints closest to his demands
Sun, 12 Mar 2006 18:22:37 -0800

John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports free agent QB Drew Brees (Chargers) reportedly is seeking a contract that will pay him $10 million per year and he is firm in those demands. The New Orleans Saints are the closest to meeting Brees' demands. The Miami Dolphins aren't offering as much in guarantees as New Orleans, and they seem to have dug in on not doing that with Brees coming off shoulder surgery.

I wouldn't have wanted to live in New Orleans before the hurricane. Besides, everyone but the people living there seemed to realize that the city was under sea level and that a massive disaster was likely to happen. If I'm a QB, I certainly would take less money to play in Miami.
