Failure to address the offensive line and seriously upgrade it, carey should not be playing RG and Columbo is a turnstile at RT, did we not read the scouting report on him last year that he was the 2nd to last rated RT and gave up the most sacks!

Failure to address the TE position and bring in a true pass-catching TE, while we continue to get smoked by TE's we continue to not add a seem-threat of our own.

Failure to address the WR position and bring in a compliment to Brandon Marshall and a true #2 WR who can take double coverage away from Marshall, fasano, bess, and hartline don't scare anybody.

Failure to address the OLB'er position and bring in another pass-rusher opposite wake, misi has not impressed and JT has very little left in the tank.

Failure to address the Free Safety position and protect the back end, jones has no clue what he is doing and clemons is nothing more than serviceable, it would have been nice to bring in a veteran for insurance or to battle for the starting spot.

And once again, failure to address the KR-PR position, we sit back and watch ginn return two kicks for TD's, we continue to give up big chunks to opposing KR's like jacoby jones and whoever the Pats had back there, no we havent had any kicks returned on us yet but we give up big chunks of yards, we dont realize how important special teams is and that a good kick returner can give us some good field position or even put some points on the board, especially with an offense that can't get it in the endzone, brad smith and johnny lee higgins were out there, instead we keep having bess return punts, great.

Come on, didnt you hear Ireland in the offseason when he said we were going to be very aggressive in FA and have a high potent offense??? He did, didnt he?

Fasano and Bess aren't threatening? wrong. are they play makers? not quite, but they are 100% clutch, and chain movers. fasano and bess do threaten. hartline might not be the best WR in this game but i wouldn't call him a slouch. I think the problem is the lack of speed overall, and i understand they added gates, but speed without polish is wasted, we needed speed immediately. however, they added reggie bush, and call him whatever you want, he adds team speed without debate. I think the problem here is that he doesn't force defenses to spread out vertically but laterally, that is where we missed in that we didn't get a legitimate right now VERTICAL speed threat.

As far as offensive line goes, yes we have some issues, but Long, Incognito(too many penalties), pouncey (learning on the go), Carey (finishing his last tank of gas) i think are respectable. columbo sucks but garner and jerry just werent ready or arent good enough. Yes it does seembandaided, but theyve obviously tried with this unit and there is improvement.

I dont blame the team for kind of ignoring the front 7 to a degree, rather then add more rookies, they cut guys who couldn't stay on the field, and added veterans in JT and burnett who could be brought up to speed a bit faster. I think this group is underperforming right now, and i dont have any answer as to why, but we all know the personnel of this unit is more then respectable.

I had a gut feeling something might be wrong with this secondary. between Bell, clemons, jones, culver, davis, smith, carrol, ness, w. allen, sapp, wilson i hoped some guys would step up. but its clear bell is purely an in the box guy at this point ( a deon grant type 3rd safety player ) jones and clemons aren't ready. no1 in this group of CB's is the answer other then davis and maybe hopefully sean smith.

Failure to draft a QB when having the #1 selection in the draft and instead taking a LT is why this regime failed and was doomed to do so from the start. Its just that simple.

Lack of play makers. Same song, different dance (season) How about a TE that scares someone? Book end for Wake...etc. I used to think Ireland knew what he was doing, but not so much anymore. How come these guy's will not play hard for Sparano? I think we all know the answer to that one. Now to our Battle Cry (for the last 10 f***ing years) ...wait 'till next year!

Parcells just played it safe, rather than spending megabucks and ending up with a bust like Jamarcus Russell, Alex Smith, David Carr, etc.

We have a franchise LT, a franchise QB, what looks like a star RB, some studs on Defense, some great receivers, a franchise center....you guys seems to forget how lacking in talent we were when this regime came in...I wish Ross took that into account too...but unfortunately it seems like our owner's as much of an idiot as most of the fans on this board

Yea, because drafting a QB with the first pick and having him bust wouldve been way worse than what we have had to suffer through with these morons in charge. :rolleyes2: GET REAL!!! Be logical for once would ya please. This argument is so senseless. If you dont take the risk, youre just as bad off as if you did take the risk and missed.

And secondly, I believe its safe to say that Matt Ryan simply isnt a bust. In fact, he is quite the opposite. The guy is the main reason that the Falcons in the last 3 seasons have lost a total of TWO home games during the regular season. We have already lost 2 in two weeks of just this season. That wouldnt be so bad if we hadnt lost 11 of our last 12 at home. Matt Ryan at this pace may not lose 11 home games till about year 8 of his career. :bobdole:

Also, lets get real again on Jake Long. The guy hasnt been great the last year. Perhaps he is injured and its effecting his play. But, however you slice it, he simply isnt playing like an all pro at LT. So lets not pretend that was just the end all of safe picks. Stop sugar coating and just be real about it. It wasnt a safe pick as much is was a epically STUPID pick made by a bunch of ****ing boobs.

We do? who? Henne? I wouldn't go that far. yeah,he looks somewhat improved so far,but i wouldn't say he's a Franchise QB yet,if ever. I personally will give Henne this year under Daboll and his offensive scheme to see how he does. If he starts playing and looking like ****,then he can leave as far as i'm concerned, because i'll be done with him.

Your right, he should be totally content to multiple losing season and a 1-11 home record...and feel lucky about that! I mean, its not like this regime has had half a decade, only 4 years!
They deserve another 5 or 6, right?

And as we all know, you can judge the success of a front office by how good their center plays.

This is the problem, there are TOO MANY ISSUES. Good coaches/GMs can handle a few issues and work thru them

We need a RT. Actually, Carey did not play too bad in the Houston game.

Our special teams are horrible.

Since hiring Cox as pass rush coach, our pass rush has dissapeared, completely.

Our recievers are decent, they drop too many balls. Balls that sometimes would be game changers or at least give us a chance.

In 3 years, the coaching staff still has not figured out a way to successfully score in the Red Zone.

Need a legitimate franchise QB, THIS IS NUMBER ONE ON THE LIST. Unless Henne improves drastically, he will be benched and the search will be in earnest in the off season.

D Thomas just may be what we needed at RB, time will tell.

Defense, sheeeesh, Wake is the only good DE we have, our DTs have gotten ZERO FRIGGIN PRESSURE ON ANYONE.

Our Safetys are horrible bad in coverage. They are although, leading the team in tackles. Now, what does that tell you that your two safetys lead the team in tackles ? It means your Dline and DEs and Lbers basically are not doing their job.

I mean the issues just go on and on and on. Now we have an issue with Jake. Whats that all stem from ? A thick headed coach keeping all the starter in the game too long in a pre season game that means NOTHING.

Too many issues for an exclusive area such as Miami. OK, I hate the weather but one must admit, just the name Miami turns people heads folks. I do not live there, never will but thats what I believe. Host Super Bowls, the U all that good stuff. The name Miami is a magic word that invokes all kind of crazy thoughts in people just like Los Angeles does. It needs a team that goes along with that glitzy image and you can poke fun at Ross all you want, he is attempting to do that.

Problem is besides all the important issues I put down, he also has major issues with the FO and coaching staff. Too much to repair in one season or even two seasons. The third season would show improved results and by the 4th season the wheels will be rolling smoothly. That timeline involves everything going perfectly in regards to selecting coaches, FO and getting good players where needed and that all starts once its decided an overhaul is needed.

Thats a long to do list. Probably longer then the majority of the teams in the NFLs lists. Add its MIAMI and wow. time to put the peddle to the metal.

Or he was scared to risk drafting a potential stud like Sam Bradford, Cam Newton, Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco, Matthew Stafford, Josh Freeman, etc, etc, etc

If you look at Tunas history on every team he was involved with, QB was never his top priority in drafting, never was and still isn't.
