Fair, sensible Mock Draft to address all needs

With Mueller and Cam's philosophy in mind, I came up with a fair Mock. Mueller's philosophy is to stockpile draft picks as he has been doing but also would like to take a QB, and its very obvious that QB is Brady Quinn. Unfortunately I believe Quinn will be off the board, long before the Fins will be picking, so I believe the Fins will have the power to trade down, and will do so with the Steelers (many possible trade partners, way too hard to pick the right suitor).
Cam is an offensive guy and with the defense set for next season (for the most part, secondary could use some help) I believe this draft will be used to strengthen the offense, more specifically the Oline, as Cam believes the offense starts with the Oline.

9th pick-traded to Steelers who are high on Levi Brown, in return Fins recieve 15th overall pick and 46th overall pick.

15th- Joe Staley, most athletic tackle in the draft, and maybe ever. I've read the Fins are high on him, he was interviewed twice, etc.
40th overall- Ryan Kalil-best center in the draft
I know back to back picks taking Olinemen but there is no doubt the Oline is the Fins BIGGEST weakness and with these 2 picks, our oline could significantly improve and do so for the next 8 years+.
46th (from steelers)-Brandon Meriweather- this will solidify the move for Jason Allen to CB for good. Also Meriweather could cover the Slot reciever. good pickup here. Local guy too.
60th (from pats)- Drew Stanton-Before this season, some said he was 1st pick material, he suffered this year but a main reason could be said cuz of his oline, recieving corps performance.
71st- Audrae Allison/Johnny Lee Higgins-With the loss of Welker, Fins need a quick slot reciever, one of these guys will be a nice pickup.

I know these picks sound boring but with these pickups, the Fins have picked up the 2nd best, most athletic LT that will solidify that position for years. They've picked up the number one, most fundamentaly sound Center, a very athletic, hard hitting safety, a good QB prospect, and a fast, speedy slot reciever/return specialist.

4th round- Address the secondary, a CB that played man to man schemes in college is recommended
6th round- True Nose Tackle to take over Traylor after this year
6th round-Division 2 or 3 Tight End prospect as our current TE Martin has
talent but injury problems are a concern
7th round-Best Defensive Player available

With this draft, the Fins would've addressed the offense with 5 picks and the defense with 4 picks.

That would be a bit terrible in the first round. Joe Staley is not going that high. Just drop this stuff right now. He is not better than Levi Brown.

I like it, but true nose tackles aren't just lying around in round 6. Personally, I like Paul Soliai out of Utah, probably round 3 or 4. I can't think of any guys that a slam-dunk starters in two years, coming out of the late rounds like that.

Ugh, I know STaley has been gettin alot of love lately, but I'm not thrilled w/ drafting him that early. I know I may need to update my mock w/ the lovefest everyone is having w/ him recently . . . but fact remains is that he is still very raw at LT, and unlike a Ted Ginn (who maybe still raw at WR, but can contribute immediately in many areas), Staley would kind of be a project . . . he hasn't faced elite people at LT . . . and wasn't great when he did. I don't know . . . seems a little high for my taste. I think Levi is a better pick in the first round . . . I love Joe's upside, I mean he could be a Walter Jones type in the future . . . but I think he is a very high risk, to risky for top 20 IMO.

I like it but I agree with FinFan, Staley doesn't belong at number 15. That would be an incredible reach. I am however absolutely in love with Kalil and Meriweather in that 2nd round. And if we can't get Quinn, I love the Stanton pick. How about put Ginn, Bowe or Meechum at the first round pick and I'll be happy.

Now you're talking.

I like Staley and hope that by some means we get him. However is it necessary to pick a slot receiver? Chambers should be moving back to the slot where he belongs... I hope.

Look guys, it's not like Chambers is only going to run out of the slot. He has speed and downfield ability so he should be on the outside as well. He just needs to be moved around through differnt sets formations shifts and motion. I don't like Hagan in the flank just yet in those 3 wide sets, so go get one of these guys (Bowe, Meachum, Jarret) to be the 3rd receiver for our team.

Can someone help me with the spelling of Meachum? I need to get this right for once.

15th: Ted Ginn Jr WR
Speedy WR that could step in and help right away, would make our WR position set. Would also allow Chris Chambers to move back to the slot position, where he is more affective.

40th: Joe Staley LT
Would give us our last starter on the offensive line, and would make our starters look like this:
LT: Joe Staley
LG: Chris Liwienski
C: Rex Hadnot
RG: L.J. Shelton
RT: Vernon Carey
http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/ot/joestaley.html

46th: Eric Weddle S
Great all around player, who played at S, CB, QB, WR, and RB during his college career. Can play either S or CB at the NFL level.

60th: Brandon Siler
Replacement for Zach.

71st: Troy Smith QB
A solid QB with potential to develop. Would be a first rounder, if not for his height and bowl performance.

* Trade up from 108 to around 90
90th: Brian Robinson DE/OLB
Can be our 4th linebacker, and would allow Jason Taylor to stay at DE.

Joe Staley at 15 isn't nearly as farfetched as people think it is. If anyone still expects him to be there at forty for us, keep dreaming. I believe he is a better player than Levi Brown is. Brown may be better from the start, but once Staley gets adjusted to playing top notch competition on a daily basis and puts a little more weight on, I could definitely see him being an all-pro in a few years. Levi Brown seems like he could be another Damion McIntosh to me.

Brian Robinson in the first day is a serious REACH IMO.

The rest is pretty solid. IF we trade down and get Ginn at 15, then Troy Smith would be a nice pickup late in the first day IMO

We don't need a DT or TE. We do need to draft 2 WRs, a change of pace RB, and a repalcement for Zach.

M. Love of Houston should be around in the 6th.

I'd love to see Soliai join his old teammate, Steve Fifita, who I believe, is still on the phins roster.

Thanks, but if you go to www.nfldraftcountdown.com they have him going at 90. I think his stock is definetly rising and could be a good replacement for jt.
And yeah I like the idea of reunititing Troy Smith and Ted Ginn Jr.

That's a draft I can be fine with if Quinn is off the board. Right now, I don't think Stanton is worth the 2nd since his value is inflated due to a weak QB class. A True NT is Paul Soliai as others have mentioned and I have supported before. And for 7th round, I'd take Justin Hickman, not just because he's from UCLA but he's also a very good OLB/DE hybrid who's very good at getting to the QB's and RB's.
