Over the past few weeks, Everyone is starting threads on the Falcons offense, but what about their defense ? Tonight they looked horrible in pass D.. Their corners are of the midget variety and they stink... They lost their best corner in free agency with Foxworth going to Baltimore, and they are left with miniature garbage in the secondary.

Their safeties also suck, they lost their best safety in Lawyer Milloy in the off season. And their 2nd round pick William Moore is banged up and can't play.

They are also terrible at screens and those intermediate range pass plays we like to run. Their pass rush is not good to non existent.. The only way they can get to the passer is sending 6 or more, and when that happens it exposes their little 5'9 defensive backs in 1-on-1 coverage.

Here's what Atlanta fans are saying about their defense tonight

^^ We need to stick the 6'5 Patrick Turner on those midget DB's. And Hartline who has some size. I would even consider putting Sean Smith on the field for a series or two with his height, as he played a lot of WR and has excellent ball skills.

If we game plan correctly, the Falcons defense is toast. Because they are not good. They are not talented, they are undersized, and we can expose them hard.

They are right. Their defense looked horrible. But their offense looks pretty good. The front 7 and special teams play will be key in whether or not we are successful against them.

Look how terrified Falcons fans are about letting CB Foxworth go in free agency. They are starting threads about it and are in panic mode:

And Foxworth was just an average cornerback. Their remaining corners are little 5'9 midgets who can't cover. Plus they have a below average pass rush and have a lot of difficulties stopping the run.

If Sparano, Henning and David Lee can't create a master gameplan against that crappy defense, then I will really worry.

They also could lose Norwood who left the game with an apparent Knee injury.

I thought Norwood looked gimpy because he was smacked from that hit to his head as he caught a pass then turned around into a wall.

It's a knee ? Are you sure ?

Check Rotoworld.com.They are reporting it is a knee and it was hurt while returning a kick. They are saying his status for September is questionable and he did not return for the rest of the night.

How good is our defense looking???? Mostly our secondary?
I'm not even bringing the subject of the run defense....

I see... I missed that return.. I caught the hit he took that left him really woozy and out of it.

Thanks for the update.

They seem to blitz a lot, but their secondary sucks.

So when they pressure, we are going to give a lot of passes to Ronnie and Polite. And hopefully they can take it to the house against their secondary like the Chargers did today.

They have given up 2 TDs and what, 3 FGs in 3 pre-season games? Not bad. They looked good against Carolina and Jacksonville, were a top 15 defense last season and have made several upgrades. No reason to think they will not be better than last year. The were flat against Tampa prior to the delay but I think that was more being tired than anything.

Great post. Their defense really is bad. Only good players I can think of is John Abraham and Eric Coleman. Their secondary is very bad in coverage, and their front 7 isn't much better. It should be a high scoring game, but I think we take the game thanks to our pass rush.

Atlanta has the worst cornerback tandem in the NFL.

If anyone would like to challenge that, please name one that's worse.

You can't.... They have two Eric Green's there starting.

And their midget 5'8 nickel corner is just as bad or worse.

Yes, their corners are really that bad. I'm not joking.

Quite possibly they are second behind the Lions who are one off season removed from having quite possibly the worst defense in the history of the NFL.

That one Lions corner is better than anyone the Falcons have.

And I wouldn't say they had the worst defense in NFL history.. Look at the numbers.. Miami's was right there with them in 07.. And we had a corner by the name of Will Allen who was top 7 in the NFL for YPA that year.

You can be a crappy defense and still have a couple good players playing really well.

The Problem with the Falcons is, those 2 players aren't in their secondary.

They gave up 517 total points or 32 points per game. Only one game they kept the opposition under 20 I think you'll be hard pressed to find a defense that gave up more over the course of one season.
