Not to start another trade thread but Omar Kelly mentions in his blog on the Sun-Sentinel that we are "real close" to trading Jason Taylor for Lito Sheppard. We would also have to give up a 4th round pick. Considering we need help badly in the secondary, especially with Lehan's injury, and considering we would get a player who should be here more than one year, it seems like a good trade.

Thoughts?

i honestly dont see anything coming from this whole JT situation..other than one more useless JT year as a dolphin, then he will probably retire..

We'll see.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Lito wants BIG CASH...

And we have to give them a draft pick.
Shouldn't it be the other way around???

with the recent injury to lehan though even with the addition of lito sheppard our secondary goes from suspect to so-so. hopefully lehan's injury isn't a yr ending injury.

Honestly if we had a pro bowl player for every time we were real close to a trade we would be a dynasty for years.

I believe the reason we'd have to give them a draft pick because,if you are aware of Jason Taylor's comments on his future recently,he said he is looknig forward to playing....quote,"ONE MORE YEAR" end-quote.

Sheppard is only 27 years only, and has a good 5-7 years left,so my guess is,its unfair to trade away a Pro-Bowl corner who has more years left than the person your trading for unless you egt a draft pick otu of that, and who can blame them....thats rather fair IMO...

I read through that article and didn't see a mention of a JT/Sheppard trade.

That would be a complete RIPOFF.

Lito is an over rated corner who wants a big pay day. He's injury prone and inconsistent, and throwing in the draft pick is even worse. I'd consider it if they were giving US the pick.

As another poster in the comments said, believing that trade information to be coming from the REAL Omar Kelly is a stretch. At the point if/when the Phins are deep in trade negotiations, I doubt the Dolphins organization would be sharing so much with the press.

Wasn't it just yesterday that Sporano tells Bokamper in his WQAM interview that he told JT he was looking forward to JT being a Miami Dolphin and rushing QB's for us this year? I don't think we are in the business of GIVING UP value in trades (at least not anymore).

It's way too early for all of us "Sky is falling chickens" to determine how bad Lehan's ankle injury was. Even if it's bad, he's got 6 weeks to heal before the official training camp begins. It may be too early to call for Lito Sheppard.

2 years i seriously doubt Jt would pass up next years payday. its bigger than this years.

That was not Omar in the comments section. It was someone pretending to be him. Look at the name "omar", the real guy goes by "Omar Kelly". It is not real news, just a guy trying to stir things up.

Could those that keep wanting to bring Lito to Miami explain why the injuries he's being traded away because of, suddenly be of no concern to us? Seriously??
