Wouldn't any job in Miami for Desai just be considered a lateral move? Would Seattle even allow that?

I guess there would be alot of word play involved. what exactly is an "associate" defensive head coach assistant. A quick google check says that an assistant is normally higher up the ladder than an associate. SO maybe if we give him the title of assistant defensive coordinator, then thats a step up from associate and is no longer consindered lateral.

I know just speaking semantics for the most part, but if you can use it to find a loophole to get your man then....

NFL teams cannot prevent position coaches from interviewing for coordinator roles, but are allowed to block lateral moves.

IMO, this move is unlikely unless Miami can cook up an inflated title for Desai (who currently is an Associate Head Coach/Defensive Assistant).

ST CO / Head Coach? He was in that slot in college. Imagine replacing Crossman with Desai and having those three as coordinators. lol.
