Farewell Jack

Thanks for 2003 Jack.

Yeah, and for his final game he let Willis throw 120 pitches in a meaningless game after a long season!

That might have been his final FU to the Marlins.

Mr. Positive speaks....

Jack still has a job with this team so to make an FU statement would be stupid. He was trying to give the D-Train one final win...because he has been our MVP all season long and deserves recognition for it. Thanks for everything Jack...thanks for bring us memories and a nice trophy in 2003. You will be missed...I for one didn't want to see him go.

He did the impossible in 2003. He took over a team during the season and not only got them to the playoffs but won them the World Series. McKeon made the Marlins relevent again. Whatever be brought to that team turned the franchise around and Marlins fans should praise him for the work he did here. Even though the last two seasons ended with the Marlins missing the playoffs, they were more competitive the last 3 years then they were the previous. Props to Jack, he deserves to retire and relax!

awesome manager hopefully the replacement will be good.

Jack and the Marlins beat my Phils a few times over those years and I have to give him big props and congrats for 2003.

Jack reminds me of my grandfather or something to that effect. A cuban grandfather, with a tabacco (probably cohiba), enjoying a great game at the ballpark. I think he reminds a lot of us of our grandfathers. Jack was the man. No victory cigar this year but he will be recognized for the 2003 season.
