Tight end Anthony Fasano, a Parcells draft pick in Dallas for whom Parcells traded once the Tuna got to Miami, told Bob Papa and Ross Tucker of SiriusXM NFL Radio that Fasano wasn’t happy when he heard the news.

Fasano says plenty of his teammates weren’t, either.

“I wasn’t too thrilled to tell you the truth,” Fasano said. “I think we were informed at a team meeting and there were a lot of groans when it was announced. But we’re going to have to deal with it and try not to let it be a distraction. But it’s going to be fun for the fans and should be interesting to see, even for some of the players, behind the scenes of the team.”

So why were there groans?

“I don’t know what kind of advantage it gives us as a football team having the show in there, and creating storylines that might not be storylines for the television show,” Fasano said. “I don’t know if it is totally accurate in some situations, that I’ve heard in the past. But just looking at it from a football standpoint and having camp be a time for our team to get ready for a season that we’re going to try to make a run at the playoffs, I don’t know how much that’s helping our team.”

Uh oh, this won't go over well......

Lmao...This title needs to be changed..He didnt blast the Dolphins..

He probably doesn't want someone filming how bad he sucks. He and any of the others who were "groaning" need to get over it already.

Honestly I think this is probably Fasano's last season in Miami. Nothing to do with his Hard Knocks comments but because he will be a free agent after the season and because they have added so much youth to the position. Clay came on late last season and has reportedly been doing very well in offseason workouts. Obviously we just spent a 3rd round pick on Egnew and guys like Brown and Yeatman are intriguing future prospects.

I will say this about his comments, probably better if he didn't take the negative route. Even if he doesn't agree with doing it, he should just keep his mouth shut. No need to create negative press.

Understandably, it sounds like he's not too thrilled, but nevertheless philosophically resigned to the upcoming process. Nowhere did I see the word "blast" nor any other such verbs which would reflect that extent of displeasure :idk:

I agree with him. He's probably speaking for 90% of the team. I get why the Dolphins are doing hard knocks (trying to get more involved with the fans). But with a new coaching staff and new system, I don't feel like it was a good decision. There are more important things for this team to focus on. They certainly do not need distractions.

he didnt blast the Phins, he just doesnt think its a good idea. Regardless, the less we hear form Fasano the better.

Ever since that Falcons game in 2009, he's been skating on thin ice, as far as Im concerned.....

This is what I take from it.. Not that I think Fasano totally sucks because I dont. I do think the vast majority of players dont want it because they do suck and they dont want to be held publicly accountable for how bad they do suck

90%? I can tell you that the 40 or so players (of the 90) that are on the bubble are probably excited about it because they will get a chance to show their ability in more than just preseason games. Don't think Danny Woodhead got picked up by the Patriots after being on Hard Knocks with the Jets because the Patriots "saw something special" in him just from his limited time in preseason games.

Much like the OP who I suppose is trying to get a gig on ESPN by coming up with sensationalist titles that exaggerate the true meaning of the story, you have gone overboard with you assumption of 90%.

Fasano had an interview on Miamidolphins.com after practice where it also sounded like he was a little annoyed with the hard knocks thing... i guess he isnt bashful

The guy probably doesn't want to be on TV because he definitely has a face for radio. His name should be Gonzo Fasano.

He didn't blast the team at all but he should keep his mouth shut anyway.
