Q: Harvey, what's your take on the TE position. With Wilford in there and Nalbone signed do you think Martin is on thin ice? I believe he and Fasano are free agents next season and they won't sign both, I see him released. Your thoughts? Cheer's Gary. England.

A: Quite perceptive Gary. I'm not sold on Wilford at tight end. I just don't think he's strong enough. I'm feeling Fasano and Nalbone as your future Nos. 1 and 2 tight ends. Martin missed too many blocking assignments last season, but he did have a solid year in the pass catching department. Fasano is a future Pro Bowler in my opinion so he's not going anywhere.

I like Fasano personally he plays great in all aspect and is reliable... Pro bowler for sure this year hopefull i am correct.

I was so geeked when we stole Fasano from the Cowboys last year (reminds me of Bavaro).
Solid red zone threat. Hope he rubs off on Joey Haynos.

I'd seriously be pissed if we let Fasano go. He was a HUGE part in our success last year

Its not even possible for Fasano to leave.

He's going to be restricted at the end of the year, although i suspect an extension is done during the season, or maybe even before the season in order to give him a worry free season. On the flip side making him play for the cash might yield a better season, either way i don't think AF is the type to worry about those kinds of things.

Haynos might stick around as well. That kid has a tall, athletic frame to work with. More of a pass catcher IMO than Nalbone who would be your blocking TE, and AF is the starter who can do both. Thats the future, for this season David Martin is No.2 then he can leave to hopefully a nice contract meaning he had another productive season.

I hope Fasano is here to stay. You should also see him play hoops and baseball. He was killer up here in jersey. I use to watch him play baseball up here and he was freakn great. The kid is just a superior all around athlete.

I forgot but what number do our tightends wear ? i mean is Fassano wearing #81 and what numbers is Haynos and the new guy wearing ? I dont have a pic of the team of this year, at least not yet.

the greatest thing about fasano, in my mind, is that he knows there's room for improvement in his game, and he's hungry and eager to devellop himself into a pro-bowler...

if some people doubt my assesment, just check out the latest video of him on miamidolphins.com

See http://www.miamidolphins.com/newsite/team/roster/roster.asp for a current list of players and jersey numbers.

The Vet numbers should all stay the same (unless a guy wanted to change his jersey number for some reason), but the rookie numbers may change.

Also, if you go to an OTA, sometimes there are UDFA try-out guys at camp that may be wearing a duplicate number. (Ie. two guys wearing #93) This close to training camp I dont think you;; see much of that though (and if you go to an OTA they actually have sheets with player names and numbers listed on them.)

Fasano is #80 btw, and hopefully that wont be changing cause I think my fathers day present is a custom Fasano jersey (dont think they sell them off the rack yet)

Here is a quote by Ireland.

• Asked if potential 2010 free agents Matt Roth, whom Ireland has called ''an exceptional player,'' Ronnie Brown and Anthony Fasano are in line for contract extensions, Ireland said, ``We're looking at all of them.''

Looks like Fasano and Ronnie are going nowhere.

Fasano has to improve on his blocking more, but he is clearly the best TE on this team. Martin won't be resigned (I seriously doubt it). He is already 30 and is below average in the blocking department . . . but he has great pass catching ability. Fasano showed last year he is equally strong in that department, younger and a better blocker.

I tend to agree with the columist that our future is looking like Fasano and Nalbone at that position.
