Favorite Dolphin Linebackers of all time?....

IMO Buonoconti was the smartest MLB we have had.Duhe had great talent.Offerdahl and Thomas had great heart. For an underated LB I liked Mike Kolen (Captain Crunch because he was a big hitter) .

offerdahl........... he wasnt surrounded with that good of a team and still excelled..#56 ruled

I think Offerdahl was the most talented. When we played the bills with him we could stop Thurman, without, he ran all over us. He was so physical, but injuries racked him. Overall Zach is great, but has not consistently had the overwhelming physical presence to smash opponents throughout his career. I remember the first game he played in against the Pats. He knocked the receiver Jefferson out with a concussion and caused another fumble. He was incredible. I just don't see him laying hte wood like that now, of course he is older, but it has been a couple years since he really smacked people like that. Cox was good, but slow. A hell of a run stopper. Bunnoconti (sp?), I think he was an amazing backer according to people who watched him, I just didn't get the chance to see him so I don't know.

Overall I take Offerdahl because he stopped people dead in their tracks.

As much as I love Zach, Offerdahl was the best. I cant remember a particular player that owned him like mawae owns Zach. He wasn't the best but Cox was a personal fav of mine. Although he caught flack for it (justifiably so) I LOVED his intro to the bills fans that year....

Least favorite backers'?..... Way too many to name. Eric Kumerow (so called tweener) is one of the top of my head.

Offerdahl hands down, AJ duhe, Zach, Nick B., B. cox, mabey not this order. But John is #1 he was a beast.

Zach. It ends there. I was to young to see any others play that had any real flash. Hope are new lb's get me to add to the list.
:yeahthat:

My problem with Cox is I can't really identify him as a Dolphin the way I do Zach, Duhe and Offerdahl. To me those guys were great Dolphins while Cox was a great player that happened to play here for awhile.

Zach and Offerdahl....I was living overseas in 1972, so I was only able to hear about the Dolphins and Buoniconti on Armed Service Radio....but it was sweet listening to us win back to back Superbowls. :)

You younger guys ought to see the tape of the 82' AFC Championship game of the Fins vs. the Jets if you can get a hold of it? Rainy & muddy with #77 Duhe picking of couple of passes and returning them for touchdowns. I was just becoming a fins fan back then as a kid, and the that guy made plays.

That game will always be special to me as it was the official game where I became a Dolfan!
