Favorite GM candidates?

Highsmith makes a ton of sense. He has worked with Philbin and I assume they had a good working relationship considering he is a candidate. He's also a native son of Miami, so he has reasons to want to be here aside from simple career advancement or his ties to Philbin (whatever they may be). My only concern is that he'd simply be a yes man for Philbin and might struggle to make the decision to fire him next year if need be. However, Philbin was able to fire Sherman despite their close relationship so that shouldn't be too big an issue.

Funny thing Eric DeCosta, nor Highsmith is not on the list but 6 other rookies are.

Looks like they want a yes man.

Six NFL front office people have emerged as candidates to interview for the Dolphins' vacant general manager job, and all would be serving in such a role for the first time.

Tennessee's Lake Dawson, Pittsburgh's Omar Khan, Cleveland's Ray Farmer, Arizona's Jason Licht, the New York Giants' Marc Ross and the Dolphins' Brian Gaine are all reportedly in the running for the job vacated when the Dolphins and former general manager Jeff Ireland agreed to part ways on Wednesday.

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross announced in a statement on Thursday that the new GM will be responsible for the 53-man roster. He also announced that friend Carl Peterson will assist during the interview process which starts on Friday.

cause since you don't like them or know who they are makes them yes men

Jason Licht and if not him, Ray Farmer.

Marc Ross is meh...his drafts aren't very impressive. He's been running the drafts for the Giants since 2008. He's had some really bad picks like David Wilson (32nd overall 2012), Prince Amukamara (overrated 19th overall 2011), Marvin Austin (52nd overall 2011), Jerrel Jernigan (83rd overall 2011), Clint Sintim (45th overall 2009), Ramses Barden (85th overall 2009), Travis Beckum (100th overall 2009)...those are 1st, 2nd and 3rd round misses.

ironically the board was in love with Sintim and Barden lol.

Amukamara is decent when healthy but that's a rarity. Beckum was starting to become a useful tool on offense before tearing his ACL in the Super Bowl

Pretty sure Jerry Reese has final say on who gets picked, but I agree it doesn't look that great. Hence why he's fourth on my list even though he's one of the bigger names out there.
