Continuing with the off-season blitz of move hated/favorite, who are your favorite and least favorite coaches...be it heads, assistants, past or present..I have an idea of one guy who will make an appearance on most 'least favorite' lists :chuckle:

Favorite:

Love Smith - what more can I say?
Tony Dungy - A role model..been through a lot, great character guy
Mike Singletary - Kinda cheating, but IMO he'll be a great head coach one day..so inspirational
Buddy Ryan - this guy is the best defensive mind to touch the game ever IMO....he was a revolutionary
Mike Nolan - He just seems like a classy guy and he gets the respect of his players...always liked him
Belichick - even though I hate the Pats, he's one of the best ever

Least favorite

Brad Childress - I hate everything about him
Bill Cowher - When your coach is more jacked up on 'roids than your players, you got a problem
Sean Payton - that guy just bugs me
..Belichick again - for some reason, i love this guy but equally despise him

BB is on radio every week and i recommend you listen to him .He is funnier and comes off as a normal guy on a non game days.

Of current coaches I would have to say I really respect the following: Dungy, L.Smith, Nolan, Belichick, & J.Fisher who are on the top of my list. As for the coaches I really do not care for, they are probably Coughlin, Childress, & H.Edwards.

I'm also very interested to see how Cameron & Whisenhunt progress as a head coach.

Well Cameron is my favorite for now...seeing he's the coach of my favorite team and he hasn't done anything to really piss me off yet. But, as far as the other coaches here's my list.

1. Mike Shanahan
2. Mike Holmgren
3. Jeff Fischer
4. Tony Dungy
5. Lovie Smith
6. John Fox
7. Scott Linehan
8. Mike Nolan
9. Eric Mangini
10. Gary Kubiak

Least

1. Bill Belicheck
2. Herm Edwards
3. John Gruden
4. Tom Coughlin
5. Jack Del Rio---probably just living in Jacksonville and disliking the Jags
6. Brad Childress
7. Brian Billick
8. Marvin Lewis
9. Norv Turner
10. Joe Gibbs

Active Coaches:
Favorites:Andy Reid-I like that he is a big guy, a pretty cool guy, and his pass 1st philosophy.
Tony Dungy-Nice classy guy
Lovie Smith-Dungy's protege, with same character
Joe Gibbs
John Fox
Jeff Fischer
Jack Del Rio, mainly beacause I like him as a USC star wearing #52.

Hated:
Tom Coughlin-A horrible person. Erratic coach. Product of the Parcells coach by sarcasm style.
Belichick
Brad Childress-He seems like a bit of a jerk, and does not seem to game coach well
Eric Mangini-Belichick jr.

Historicly:
Loved:
Don Shula-The Don always showed class, honesty, passion, and intergrity
Dick Vermeil
Vince Lombardi
Hank Stramm
Bill Walsh
George Allen
John Madden-Loved his antics and is from my alma-mata, Cal Poly

Hated:
Bill Parcels-Master of the coaching by sarcasm style
Coughlin
Belichick
Marty Schottenheimer-I have constantly made fun of Marty for over two decades. I do feel sorry for him getting run out of San Diego though.
Buddy Ryan-Major jerk
Chuck Knoll

I think one coach who doesn't get enough credit is Jeff Fisher. That guy has coached the Oilers/Titans for so long now, and they usually field a good team. I am amazed at guys like Fisher and (formerly) Cowher.

In today's 'what have you done for me lately' sports scene, where a coach usually last what, 3-4 years, they've been at it for over 10 years!

agreed, that's why he's in my top 5 as well...

I really don't like Shanahan and Mangina.

I'm not a big fan of Dungy only because of off-the-field. He's often blinded by his faith, and because of it, doesn't really like a certain lifestyle choice many people make. Let's just say, he doesn't like people who "switch teams."

Favorates:
John Fox- Just always liked him. I still can't believed how he turned around a horrible 1-15 team and had them in one of the best super bowls I've ever seen (03' Pats v. Panthers) just two seasons later.

Jeff Fisher- He's been with the Titans for a long time now and they seem to constantly be good. Even after having to release almost every star player he had, the guy still put together a decent team that looks like it could be good for years to come with such talented youth..

Bill Belicheck- Even though he's with the Patriots, I still have a ton of respect for him. One of the all time greats imo.

Mike Nolan- He's just been awesome in rebuilding a franchise that was awful before he was signed. I thought he was set up for failure when he took the job but he's totally suprised me.

 just noticed the Science icon as well...Man, you just never know what goes through Hyster's head.

:dday:

but don't blame me...blame whoever set it up so that 'science' is one of the icons to choose from in this forum
