Favre: 2010 season return 'highly unlikely'

And so it begins.........................again :rolleyes2:

Unlikely until training camp ends, and he gets his "child like enthusiasm" for the game back.

The irony is that the Vikings would've won if they subbed in Jackson after Favre bummed his ankle.

it will be a dissapointment to see him leave the game but it is time i love watching favre play you know everytime he drops back to throw the ball a big play can happen at any moment if he still loves playing the game and still feels like he can play at a high level and makes his decision on his future soon i wouldnt mind seeing him back in the NFL i know if i were a player i would love playing with favre he is such a great guy and such a great QB

I hope Brett Favre plays forever. You Brett Favre haters kill me lol. It's so sad. Brett Favre is great. The guy has always played the game he loves. That guy took a BEATING on Sunday against the Saints. He's tough. That's one thing I love about him. That dude had bruises forming on the sidelines that weren't there before the game lol. Joe Buck even said before the game started, "that guy looks tired."

He was beat up before the game. He's 40+ years old. I know 40+ year-old guys in my office that come to work and talk about how they had a tough time getting out of bed that morning. And they sit behind a desk all day long. Brett Favre is as tough as Peyton Manning is brilliant and if you can't appreciate Brett Favre then I don't know what to tell you. I'd take Favre over 90% of the league. Without Brett Favre in that game, it wouldn't have been close. But the Vikings turn the football over FIVE times and Brett Favre keeps them in it with a great chance to win it. The Vikings shouldn't have been in that game with FIVE turnovers.

The Vikings win if they sub in Tavaris Jackson lol? Are you serious? Tavaris Jackson? REALLY? C'mon man. We're talking about relying on Tavaris Jackson to win you the NFC Championship game haha.

I couldn't care less if he plays. What gets old is this whole dance he does with his decision all offseason. It's not fair to his team, his fans, and most importantly himself when he misses the entire offseason because he can't make up his mind. No, he doesn't need much practice playing the game, but he sure as hell needs the conditioning. He needs to sit down with his family for a couple of weeks and make a decision and stick with it.

And to be fair, it was the Vikings defense shutting down one of the most potent offenses in the league and some questionable Saints playcalling that kept them in it after those turnovers.

brett favre the player i will always like and have respect for. brett favre the offseason drama queen and media hooker who holds his team for ransom every damn year i've grown to despise. i just can't take this **** anymore. and it's ALREADY happening - just a few days after their last game. fugg.

instead of hoping to hear news about the fins in the offseason i get to see rachel nichols camped out in whatever nothing town favre is lushing in waiting for the old fool to make up his damn mind and talk about nothing. oh joy.

He's Brett Favre. He's 40. Can you really blame the guy for not wanting to go to camp? That garbage is for rookies. Brett Favre isn't going to learn anything in camp. He's Brett Favre. If he doesn't want to go to camp then why should he? If they didn't make such a stink about him going to camp then he wuldn't dance around. Brett Fare NEVER runs to th media. The media comes to him. They ask, he tells. It's really that simple. Brett Favre isn't really a drama queen in my eyes.

He doesn't need to make up his mind. He knows what he wants. He wants to play but he doesn't want to go to camps. He's too old for it. been there done that. And of course it's already happening. Did you not think that after the Vikings season was over that Favre would just go back to Mississippi without someone asking him what his plans are? It's a couple of days after the game. How can he really know at the age of 40 lol. He's OLD. I blame the media and these teams more than I blame Brett Favre. As soon as Favre didn't have to go to Vikings camps he was ready to make his decision.

Brett Favre drives ratings. And it doesn't matter if you love or hate Brett Favre, you're gonna watch Brett Favre because he's captivating. I wanna see Brett Favre play until I'm 40.

Yeah Brett Favre will get the Roger Clemens treatment. They will let him come in when he wants to and he will be ready. Difference is Clemens is a baseball player, he didn't take as many beatings as Favre did his entire career. This is wearing down on him, he's 40 years old. He wants to keep playing but at what cost?

I see no reason he could've not just said; "I'm not going to talk to the media about it. This is an issue that I will deal with the team about. At this time I am under contract with the Minnesota Vikings."

An answer like this, and he'd have my respect. Given all the flack he's taken and the circus that surrounded it, he could've gone a long way to not being a complete drama whore. I don't blame him for feeling the way he does. Warner said much the same thing, but Warner isn't such a complete drama queen.

With this answer, he set the top of media coverage spinning. You can't tell me he doesn't know what this is going to do.

I further predict he will return next year.

I hate to think that all those late hits by the Saints retired BOTH Warner & Farve.

Their DC will always just be a jills coach to me...:chuckle:
