Green Bay has a great histroy of backup QB's getting their chance and being extremely successful in the NFL, is Matt Flynn next?

Brett Favre comes in for Don Majkowski and the rest is history

Mark Brunell sat behind favre for 5 years, he was traded to the Jags in 95' and went on to have a very successful career

Matt Hasselbeck sat behind Favre for 3 years and was traded to Seattle in 2001, he has had a very good NFL career

Aaron Rodgers sat behind favre for 3 seasons and is now the best QB in the NFL

Matt Flynn has been sitting behind Aaron Rodgers for 4 years now and in only 2 appearances has performed very well, is he the next to follow?

The track record for backup QB's in GB is very impressive

Man, lets hope so, but only if he comes down to Miami of course.
Time to clean the dust off Marino's shoes cause hopefully they will be filled.

Someday...

I think this list proves that GB has always done a good job of develping QB's, lets remember Flynn won a National Championship as well.

This stems from Former GM Ron Wolf's philosophy of always drafting a QB. He took one in just about every draft and ironically never took one really high, (Rogers was selected by Ted Thompson after he fell in the draft). Wolf believed that they were worth the gamble. If they panned out then you had a solid QB, if you already had one then you could gain gain picks or players, ala Hasselback to Seattle. I've seen Ireland take a focused draft approach (IE speed and skill positions last year) but I don't see a lot of rhyme or reason as of yet.

BTW, Favre was actually drafted by Atlanta and traded to GB.
