Favre Coming Back

I'm glad he's coming back. The guy can still play and his team almost made the playoffs, he still got the arm, not the canon he had before but still stronger than abobut 50% of the starters in the NFL. They are just a few pieces away and they will be in the playoffs, especially playing in the NFC.

Just wait till AJ Hawk develops. They still need to work on their defensive line, and the secondary. They have a decent offense, could use a runningback though and a tight end. But they got a young offensive line that did pretty good.

Marino's TD record is now gone

people are calling in to the Dan Patrick show saying he's only coming back to pad his stats. :shakeno:

Who cares why he is coming back? If he wants to play then thats his decision regardless of why he made it.

Just my opinion, but I think Marino's record is the only reason he's coming back. He can't possibly think his team is a contender. And noone is going to tell me it's for "the love of the game." The guy has been teetering so much about playing the past couple of years that it's hard to imagine he's still got a lot of passion for it.

Fine with me Favre - go ahead and add to that nice INT total you have.

He can have fun going nowhere next year, and Marino's record IS the only reason he's coming back.

Let's clear up a few things:

1) For years Brett has said he is not playing for records. He loves playing and wants to win a championship again.

2) Johnny Unitas Had records broken by Fran Tarkington. Did that make Unitas less of one of the all time greats?? Many of Unitas seasons were 12 games not 16.

3) Brett Favre has never mentioned Marino. He has only said that records are something you talk about when you are done playing.

4) Peyton Manning is on track to break several records also.

QB's of Marino's caliber come along only once in awhile. More rules changes making passing easier does not mean that QB's of past era's are less capable.

One key thing to consider is that while Brett Favre has been with the Packers they have had only one losing season.

Packer fans love Brett but don't refer to him as the best all time-yet.

Bradshaw, Namath, Doug Williams, Brad Johnson, Jim McMahon were not great QB's. They were one teams that won a Super Bowl. Don't ever let ESPN convince you of that crap and not believe your own eyes.

the packers need to grow a pair and take him behind closed doors and tell him to leave....and all these analysts who keep saying "hes still one of the best QBs in the game" need to get out of the past....

I agree. He's is padding his stats, whether he "cares" or not. And they are basically flushing Aaron Rodgers career down the toilet. He's being selfish. He's not leading a winner. They haven't been good in half a decade. The Packers are done "owing" Brett Farve anything at this point. If he won't be big enough to step down himself, kick him the F out...its been over 3 years of this bull****. Two years ago, I supported him, but now its a joke.

the packers finished the season on a 4-game win streak. very young team. plenty of reason to think they could compete next year the NFL works. i like that he's coming back. :)

I like Favre coming back, but he's just keeping Dan's record seat warm for Peyton Manning.
