The new Dolphins’ regime continues to make good on its promise to churn the 53-man roster.

The team decided to swap FB Boomer Grigsby for Casey Cramer on Monday, giving the Dolphins a player with a little more size and the so-called “roster flexibility” coach Tony Sparano covets.

The 6-foot-2, 250-pound Cramer, a four-year veteran who signed with the Dolphins on Monday, is tough blocker, quality special teams player and has better ball skills than the 5-foot-11, 249-pound Grigsby, who entered the league in 2005 as a linebacker and switched to fullback.

Cramer is expected to be a better receiving option in the offense than Grigsby. But Cramer has only two NFL passes in 2006 with Tennessee. The Titans released him on Aug. 30 after two seasons.

It's the same thing we say about every fullback we bring in here. They are "all that and a bag of chips" and we cut 'em and bring in the next new-improved model...and the cycle continues.

Dumb move letting go of Boomer. We had an entire preseason to find a decent FB, and we let go of last year's starter in preseason and this year's starter. Then pick up some scrub off another team to take his place, but we all know he'll be gone shortly. IMHO you don't tinker with players during the season, this was something that supposed to be decided in preseason. Instead, we now even have more instability at the FB position and our running game was supposed to be a strength. Obviously if Boomer was that bad he would have been gone during pre-season, instead it seems like he was made the scape goat. Now we have to expect our TE's to Block in a duel role now making us vulnerable if a TE suffers an injury.

Im sorry, but as much as I liked the attitude Boomer brought we knew this was gonna happen. He had a real poor outing against the Jets and they made an example out of the guy. You either play or your cut. It is message that maybe they hope gets threw the head of Hagan, Jason Allen, Andre Goodman and a few others who give half *** performance during game time. Ginn looked horrible during PR, Hagan was held catchless, Goodman proved why he shouldn't be starting in this league and Boomer failed to open up holes. Expect someone else to be released, because we signed Evan Mathis.

as some others said, he'll probably play somewhere else than just FB... on ace formations he'll probably take david martin's spot, after all Cramer's run/pass blocking MUST be better ... and fasano is doing quite well so i don't see why we keep two pass catching TEs out there on the field

When everyone stacks 9 in box to stop the run and 'dare' us to throw ... we are gonna need the biggest battering ram we can find ......
