Had a feeling he was released some time ago but never really noticed. He signed with Dallas this past week and is playing tonight. He looks good on the first series blocking for Demarco Murray and John Gruden is having an orgasm talking about how good Clutts is and beefing him up saying just what the Cowboys need and they filled a huge hole. He is actually not any good, but plays an important position and is big. He looked like crap with Miami.

That said, I think FB is a very important position to compliment a run game. A few teams go without a FB and I don't get it? Right now with Clay at TE, Miami is without a FB. I haven't heard if they have any plans to sign one but I think they should if Clay is now full time TE. We need someone in the backfield to block for these backs. It's a no brainer and I have no idea why they haven't filled the spot? I know it's a thin crop to choose from, but Javorskie Lane was cut in camp, Evan Rodriguez replaced him and was cut, then Clutts, now who?

We all remember how well Lousaka Polite did well here, and how important he was. Especially on those 3rd and 1 plays and opening holes that our RB's so desperately need. Thoughts?

Terrible that there is no pure FB on this roster. The lack of success on 3rd and short has killed this team and could haunt in a big spot down the stretch.

IMO the lack of success on 3rd and short has more to do with the OL than lack of a true FB. Most of the third and shorts that we failed on that I remember had the whole line stuffed. I don't think a FB will fix this. We may have gotten better ala the Daniel Thomas run on short yardage yesterday.

It's interesting that the Dolphins' pass attempts on 3rd and 1 or 2 outnumber their rushing attempts 24 to 18 this year.

I've seen Egnew set up at the FB a few times. What I do in Madden is put D.Thomas as my full back lol.

you don't need a true fullback it gives away intentions too much...not in this o at least

that said i found a lb that makes philip wheeler look solid...#59 for the bears is as bad as it gets

running out of shotgun sets matched with "GO" is a dead giveaway every single time... sets under center disguise better (imo); Egnew as lead dog hasn't worked; maybe use a DL to clear the road

ha ha so you are telling me a dlineman ie dt lead blocker gives away intentions less than a shotgun set with a single back??? are you serious

I understand that Sparano proved that mammoth-sized FB are very useful in short yardage situations, but that doesn't mean Dolphins must have a FB to work.
It could add versatility to the system so I think Jorvorskie Lane was a great option.
The thing is our offensive system is based on all kind of passes and fast-runs, Mike Sherman and crew are making a lot of changes trying to adjust the offense for Lamar Miller's speed. Without a decent O-Line this has been harder to do.
With that in mind I still believe that a versatile RB could be more helpful in this moment with Miller doubtful for next game and my best chance is Steve Slaton. Miami Dolphins were his last team and I think we's still valuable.
