For what its worth I do remember Ray Lucas practicing well and absolutely baffling the coaches on sundays with how horrible he played.
At least when AJ stepped into the game he stepped into a situation where the season was on the line...the playoffs were on the line...and he won. Who cares if it was against lesser opponents. We haven't beaten those lesser opponents late in the year with the playoffs on the line and the whole season on the line, in years. Decades even.
