Feeley Moving up depth chart?

In his first two San Diego practices, Schottenheimer said Feeley has been a quick study.

"I've been very impressed with his understanding of our offense,'' Schottenheimer said. "It's hard to call a play in the huddle if you don't know the offense.''

Feeley has a booster in Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, his former Philadelphia teammate.

"I'm definitely excited to see that he has a fresh start with a great team," McNabb said. "Now he gets an opportunity to learn from a guy (Drew Brees) who has been there for four years and can push him and show him different things about the league. He can teach Philip Rivers a couple things as well.''

Who's going to be the first to say, "AJ Feeley must have gotten lost on the way to the airport and some other QB showed up in San Diego."?

not that fast, but there is always a possibility for him to move up.

I got a laugh at the article this morning, so of course I had to share!

what a freakin joke. forget that feeley sucks. forget that rivers is good... feeley has been there for a week and hes supposed to have learned the offense and not be poised to take rivers spot.

what a joke. why even pay this guy to write this crap.

Feeley will be lucky to even have a spot on the SD roster next year.
No, he'll very most likely be the backup after this year. They're releasing (or trading) either Brees or Rivers and need a backup with some experience.

It just goes to show the optimism that accompanies any player coming to a new team....that's why they call it a fresh start. :)

I doubt that Feeley will move up in san Diego's depth chart anytime soon however, San Diego traded their third string QB for our thrid string QB. Common Sense 101 says that San Diego does have future plans for him. You don't trade 3rd rate for 3rd rate unless you feel that 3rd rate player is better than what everyone says he is.

I have a hunch that at the end of this season, you'll see Miami try to get Rivers. Remember, we gave up a 6th round draft pick to get Lemon. Either Lemon is that damned good, or we layed the foundation for an off season move for another player from SD. And I seriously doubt with as well as Brees is playing that Marty will get rid of him. Stay tuned...

I agree. It wouldn't make any sense to write a local article that said " This guy is aweful, he doesn't follow thru on throws, is very good at throwing to the wrong guys...for touchdowns, but he is good with the cheerleaders"

I think i could write similar crap allow me to try:

SHOCKER: Feeley beats out philip and drew brees and will start by opening day next season....

and after 5 games 8 turnover and 27 sacks he retires and says I never tought I could start in this league

i cant believe people make the rediculous threads my inventing circumstances out of quotes that say something different. All marty said was AJ had an understanding unf the defense.. Not that AJ is moving anywhere.
Cripes!
