I was just watching the Mempis Ole Miss game and one of the back-up corners had a game winning INT at the end. Well anyway the announcers said that he was a first string corner he was just demoted. They said that finally probably lit a fire under his arse. I know Saban always talks about this and doing this, so I was wondering if you guys think he is doing this with Feeley to motivate him and see if he can just go crazy in practice. Or if its just cause he isn't very good.

huh? why are you comparing situations? your title is VERY misleading. Sage has earned the right to be #2, possibly even #1

it probably is a combination of that and Sage playing really well.

Feeley was competing for the starting job, and needed a good showing to earn the spot.... what more motivation does he need than that?

no feeleys been a backup all his life. as opposed to that guy who was probably considered a star. If you bench a star he takes it seriously, if you bench someone who's carved his name into the bench just out of boredom, hes used to it.

Its possible. I wouldn't be suprised if he was trying to motivate all the qbs as none of them have done anything special.

200+ yards and 2 TDs in one half is pretty special to me...
And secondly, absolutely not. Putting him at 2nd string didn't light any fires, why would 3rd?

Feeley is 3rd string only because there is no 4th string (yet). Saban brought in Gus and Saban is looking to bring in another qb and it won't be for the guy to be 3rd string, will it? Where does that leave Feeley who is clearly NOT Sabans guy? I'm surprised Feeley accepted this demotion because as soon as Saban brings another qb, Feeley is gone.

I liked Feely last year but after watching him play the last five games, I have come to the conclusion he is not our answer. He has a good arm however he does not have the touch and he stares down the receiver which he is throwing too. Maybe with a better o-line, his play would improve but I now believe he will not be with us next year. That is if he makes it that long.

Against which string defense?

You can try to spin things any way you want. I still haven't witnessed anything spectactular.

against the same defense Feeley played against

AJ was picked off by 3rd string Etric Pruitt who was cut. Sage played against the same players

Not trying to be a downer, but I think all of our QB's are average to below average and the best we can hope for is that they play above there talent level this season.

Hey its not like Frerotte has been good against any defense.

I completley agree. When I say I haven't seen anything special it applies to all all of our qbs. We're going to be in the same situation we were in last year. But with a different HC....

Edit: And better running backs.
