It doesn't matter to me at all which one of these guys starts. It was clear from watching the game that the QB position IS going to be a weakness regardless of which one of these guys is playing. The only way we're going to be able to get anything out of the QB position is to have these guys throw short passes to Ricky (who looked great) Ronnie, and Randy. So, while some of you sit around and argue which QB should start, I'll sit back with the realization that neither one of these guys is going to look that good.

Well hopefully RB can get in camp so we can maybe have a great team without a good QB...like the Redskins, Ravens, Buccaneers, and Giants were when they won the SB with crap QB's.

Its a good thing coaches dont judge preseason games like you. Take these games with a grain of salt, they are only about practicing plays in a live situation, thought most people realized that. How have you possibly seen enough out of Gus in our system with only 2 small appearances in PRE-SEASON to come up with your "realization"? I know I sure havnt seen enough to criticize yet.

It's funny that you say that you haven't seen enough to criticize yet, you only mention not seeing Gus in our system when A.J.'s been in the system just as long.

I'm obviously basing it on what I've seen. Hell, I hope I'm wrong and I have to eat crow but I don't think either one of these guys is going to be the answer.

No Gain..sorry guys..the Super Bowl aint in the cards for us this year. That being said...we gain nothing..nothing..nothing..by having Gus start at QB. Hes not the QB of the future.

No Risk...Feeley still could develop...because he has the physical tools...and age on his side. If he was as old as Gus....Id start Gus. Hes not. We risk really nothing by starting Feeley. If hes truly terrible after the first few games...fine...bench him.

The goal is to win the Super Bowl...and Gus Frerrote does not clearly give us that shot this year...and if he does not CLEARLY give us that shot. He sits. Period.

I would be a little hesitant to say that age is on AJ's side... What is he... 27 or 28? Both of these guys are not our future. I think we need to concentrate on the guy who gives us the best chance to win this year (sound familiar) and draft a 1st round QB or a big time trade for our QB of the future. I'm not ready to settle with AJ.

Hey..Im not ready to settle with AJ either. But..he does offer more upside than Frerotte. His age does make a difference. I think youll find that Saban has every intention on Feeley being the starter...just for my reasons stated. We know what we have in Gus. We dont know that with AJ. No matter what all the AJ bashers say..we dont know..based on last years sorry *** team..and roughly 2 quarters of pre season football. It is crucial to the future of this franchise..offer Feeley the starting job. It may suck for alot of people..but in the end thats whats best. Not winning games this year..but winning a Super Bowl in three.

AJ threw an inteception which was a little overthrown and the WR did nothing to position himself to catch the ball. Gus was incredibly off. If Gus is this inconsistent, should we really bench a younger QB who has shown a little potential?

Shown a little potential to do what?

I agree w/ you. I don't think they will be that sharp at qb.

In that case, it's finding the guy that will not make the big mistakes and won't hurt us. We can be decent if our running game does well. Luckily, we do have some nice weapons at WR that can help us make plays in the passing game (ex. the WR screen to Boston, Chambers catches).

Well right now, Gus. He has shown more command of teh offense, more poise under pressure and seems to be making better reads. I like AJ and want him to win, as I feel he has the potential for teh most upside, but potential and actual play are 2 diff things and AJ isnt showing that he has that command of teh offense yet. Gus isnt great, but he is showing he is poised, confident and in command.

You cant start someone just because they are younger.....what do you say to the vet like Zach and JT and Seau......"well we dont have a shot this year so we are going to go with the younger guy who has yet to put a single point on the board".Which is how you win games......your supposed to outscore your oponents.

I didn't see the game yet, will today, but reading the Florida papers, it seems that they think Gus won the job yesterday. Or maybe it was just AJ lost it? But I will see for myself today.
