Reports out of Dolphins camp suggest that head coach Nick Saban wants both A.J. Feeley and Gus Frerotte to be ready to play this season in Miami. "I would think it's likely that they would both start at some point during the season," Saban added.

Isn't this an old quote? Wasn't he referencing the fact that most NFL starting QBs don't start all 16 games anymore?

He meant that in the context of "one will be hurt, have to come out of the game at some point"

seemed sensible to me.

I agree we will need both.It remains to be seen who wiil be No 1A and No 1B.

he might be assuming that injuries will be an issue. how many qbs take every snap as the starter?

Yeah this was a quote from back at one of the mini camps. All he is saying basically is that in today's NFL, you need two QBs who are ready to play because of how common injury is. Any coach would/should feel the same way.

It's called INJURY....Have to have both guys ready in case of injury. Can't be an unprepared back-up in this league or any league for that matter

if aj starts and he sucks, i would jump over gus to sage to see if sage can be our future qb.

Exactly. Check it man. Feeley will start, and might be rusty his 2 games but if Saban has the faith Feeley will improve just like he did at the end of last season. Although if Feeley happens to get hurt gus will be prepared to take his place. Oh and Feeley will be the starter. Gus can do me a favor and put his lip over his head and swallow.

even with saban theres a question as to who he should use as OB. it's inevitable. just because you get linehan in here doesn't mean you should go to frerotte immediately. let feeley start the season and lose it to frerotte if frerotte is to lead this team at all. by year's end, it could be frerotte in there but i think it should be feeley's to lose or to keep.
