Feeley was NOT a 3rd String QB

I have been reading this board for about a year now, and however I don't post much, I love to read everyone else comments and thoughts. Something that has been really annoying to me though the past few months is how people keep posting refering to Feeley as the "3rd stringer in Philly", and "he couldn't even beat out Detmer", and so on and so forth.

Ok, Feeley was only the #3 on the official depth chart. Akers, the PK, liked Detmer to hold on FG and PAT attemps. NFL rules say that if the 3rd string QB plays, then your #1 QB can't reenter the game. So, if Detmer was listed at #3 where he should be, then McNabb would not be able to play anymore in that one game. If McNabb got hurt to where there was no possible way he could/would return, Feeley would've came in and played.....and started every game after that until McNabb came back.

Ok, so that issue should be cleared up now! :)

Aj was a 3rd string qb, but he was the best one in the league and now he is going to start for the Dolphins and bring them back to the playoffs. Any questions?

I don't buy the story(BTW who hasn't heard the story).I don't care if he was 2nd string or not because what matter is what he does now as a DOLPHINS.

How many more times is someone going to say we wasted a 2nd rounder and $3 Million SB on a 3rd stringer?

Detmer was the #2 QB in '02 but was injured after his first game backing up Mcnaab(Detmer played a great game BTW).Only reason why A.J started the remaining games because Mcnaab and #2 Detmer were injured.

Feeley was definatly the #3 starter in 2002, that is why he didn't start the game that Detmer did. When Detmer got hurt, Feeley came in and we all know the story.

Detmer threw 5 passes in 2003 cause those were in games the McNabb came into. So if they would've but Feeley in those times, McNabb wouldn't have been able to reenter the game.

Well once the season starts if he plays good you won't hear much of it, it he sucks it up you won't hear the end of it.

Not according to the dolphins. He was brought in to be the starter, unless he flops he will be the starter. Jay is the backup who is fighting to show that ha can start, but seemed destined to be a backup once again.
