The Miami Dolphins have wrapped up free agency and turned their full attention to April's draft.

The coaching and scouting staff, which on most teams usually have a battle of wills this time of year, have taken the information they've gathered at the combine to adjust the team's draft boards, and are presently on the workout circuit further evaluating the 2009 draft class.
The Dolphins will put together a draft board that likely features no more than 150 players, eliminating or downgrading players with injury concerns, size limitations, character issues, and drug histories. For more on their makeup check this blog entry.

The goal is to add about 15 players before the rookie camp that usually takes place in early May. Some players will start immediately, just as Jake Long, Kendall Langford and Dan Carpenter did last season. Others, like Phillip Merling, Davone Bess and Chad Henne, will progress at the appropriate pace. Some who will become decent role players, and special teams contributors. A few will flat out fizzle, and others will be groomed on the practice squad for a season or two with the hope they'll eventually blossom.
