Felix Jones, anyone?

So you're happy with just 1 player fitting this description? No... ok then. Hence my use of the word 'adds'.

At the same position? Having 2 players with the similar skill sets does nothing for this team. Now if you said 'add a WR or TE' that is 'explosive or has speed', then you would have a good point. But you didn't and you don't.:thanks:

Felix Jones is always getting injured. He would make a heck of a return guy for us, but we would have to find a way to get him on the roster, which means we would probably have to cut Slaton. Bottom line is I would do it for a 5th to 7th rd pick

Hopefully you are wrong.

huh why would you not want to be set or do you mean you hope they look at other backs. I dont agree we are set.
Bush was good last year but thats one season out of his career he was at that level, slaton used to be good, Thomas was dissapointing as a rookie and who knows with Messam.
Im ok with rolling with these guys and maybe looking at an undrafted guy to compete

Jones career is much like Bushe's as far as always nicked up when he is healthy he is a beast. I would rather have him than Danial Thomas but im sure he is more expensive

we are good. we need to focus our money on long and wake right now

main issue i see with our rbs is all of em are either too damn small or don't run with good pad level too upright on short yardage and goalline where the field condenses and the space gets tight...that messam guys upright on the stuff i've seen daniel thomas got popped at the goalline by guys who got up under his pads reggie bush on the goalline inside is a good way to get him hurt and slaton...ehhh

sounds like we've shown edwin baker from mich st who's 5 ft 8 208 lbs some attention probably as an undrafted camp invite or 7th round guy who might be able to help us given he's all high knees and low center of gravity

Felix Jones would be an excellent guy to trade for, if he's available. But given his pedigree and the fact that Jerry went to Arkansas I don't see it happening. I'd give a 5th rounder for him this very minute. A fourth I'd think about but probably still do. He's not a feature back but he's an explosive presence in spots, a better player than Bush, in my view, but despite being the same sort of player still a weapon worth having, both in special teams and in special packages with Bush if you have an offensive coordinator creative enough to make it work.

Not picking him up because you have Slaton and Messam is the height of stupidty, IMO. The potential of former or current scrubs isn't worth the pixels fans spend on them. Much better for the team to invest in talent and figure out a way to use it than not see immediate way to use talent and therefore pass up on acquiring it altogether.

I think we should focus on new deals for our own boys and set our sights on the draft. We have very little wiggle room with our cap and we are set at running back, making Jones a no-go in my book.

jesus no. Trade for him? LOL.....uh no

Set at RB.

Need to concentrate on signing Long and Wake

And where do you take money from to pay him? Especially in a contract year. Now thats the height of stupid.

If Bush wasn't here, then if you could acquire him in the same fashion with a new 2 year contract, then fine. But it isn't going to happen that way. He will want his pay day. And unless you have the answer to magically pay the guy his pay day, then you and others are lost in the weeds on this one.

What makes you think that Jones is going to demand a big pay day?

if you trade for jones for a mid round pick you don't even need to work out a contract extension in the deal...i'd make him play the final year of his rookie contract and show he can stay healthy before i'd extend him...guys health issues are why he's expendable in the first place...however depending on demaco murray to stay healthy to me that's the height of stupidity
