with the knee injury Big Ferg sustained...though i'm not sure yet of how bad it is...will Soliai step up,or will the coaches put McDaniel,Starks,or someone else in at NT? thoughts...

when he went down I thought he was reaching for his groin...

I am not sure what they will do. Soliai didn't look that good when he played be himslef a couple of games ago, but he did hurt that ankle very early in the game. Behind Paul we don't have any kind of true Nose guard. They brought in McDaniel if I remember last night but he is clearly not big enough to play nose. If Ferguson is lost for the year I was wondering if they would consider running a 4-3 for the rest of the season. Simliar to what the Jets did when Jenkins went down.

I dunno man he got carted off... doesn't look too good. I am concerned about this but i am very concerned about who is the most injured from the offensive line. Hopefully Solai recovers with this mini bye week we have

I thought most of the O-linemen looked more like ankle injuries. If they are mild sprains they should be ok to go after the long break.

Only thing with running a 4-3 is . . . we don't have the personnel at all for it. Our strongest part of our D is our line . . . None of our DE's can be expected to be solid in a 4-3 . . . they are all in the 3-4 mold.

This team in a 4-3 would be . . .

JT/Soliai/Starks/Wake IMO

LBs - Porter/Crowder/Ayodele

U would have to rotate Merling/Langford and McDaniel at the 2 DT spots . . . place Roth as a backup DE . . . I mean it wouldn't work.

I take my chances with rotating Soliai and giving STarks/Dotsen more reps.

with all due respect, i disagree. i think we could make a 4-3 work. we generated the most pressure last night out of a 4-man front. we have players at DE who played DT in a 4-3 in Starks and McDaniel. Soliai is a nice presence at DT as well. Taylor has been a DE for most of his career. Wake was a DE in Canada. Roth was a DE in college and at the beginning of his career here. Porter was a DE in college. Merling and Langford could be situational players in a 4-3.

The way he was being loaded off the cart into the x-ray room didn't look good at all. I hope it's not.

While it was a terrible loss last night and possibly moving forward for us, the timing of it last night's game was lucky for us. If it had happened any earlier, they would have run all over us (more than they already were). The fact that it happened later in the game and after they were down and trying to get back into the game, didn't hurt us as bad since they passed 75% of the time. But I fear what teams might be able to do to us on the ground moving forward if he misses any significant time.

My thing is . . . we are already THIN at LB as is. U would be taking JT/Wake/Moses/Roth away from LB . . . and u are left with a banged up Crowder, Torbor, Ayodele, Anderson and Porter.

Trust me, I know we have the personnel to run a 4 man front (tho by rotating our DE/NT at DT in a 4-3, we lose the depth at DE) but our LB depth gets real bad.

I do agree, we should keep running 4 man fronts, but not as a full time thing.

yeah, true. probably not the best scenario. we could activate Folsom for depth. but someone would be the odd man out then.
