I mean on draft night, some could say it was a "draft high". But, looking at the picks, in relation to where they were selected was one thing. It's almost surreal how well executed and prepared our front office was during the 3-day process.

We made a grand total of 1 trade (s) in that time span. Im sure deals fell through, but to have the steady....the firm confidence in your scouting. Your staff. Your owner.

I hadn't seen Ross fake smile like that since he bought the team. To sit back and value your board at 14, then have a guy in their top 50 at 47. Have the sense and the gull to pick up some extra picks AND still land they top guy on your board at the time 5 picks later...Im a sucker for savvy slicksters because I am one myself lol. Im probably the best spades player you'll never play.

Jordan Phillips selection is growing on me by the day. I dont know what you guys remember most about last season but me....only thing I hoped for was for the opposing offenses to pass 64 times the last 4 games.

Also, was any LB's at 52 better than Phillips....

We were so unbelievably terrible I had to switch to a Jags game just to see the sunshine some. It was hard watching Wake get ran over by 3 people while trying to pass rush.... Tough to watch.

Phillips was crazy, crazy value at 52, filled a need AND got Jay Ajayi/Tony Lippet out of it? Uhhh yeah, Im aboard (Daniel Tosh voice)

Speaking of, I read comments saying he looked like a corner playing WR I watched some video and think. There are some bumps in the road, but the possibilities are evident. Lippet if all else fails is still a darn good WR if need be. And on the humorous side, can he be worse than anyone NOT names Grimes last season....Savvy pick cant lose!

Jay Ajayi if he can keep health is another good value. I love the way he runs. Like he's trying to go through a brick wall. Great hands and receiving ability. Lot of versatility to his game. Probably ends up no. 2...Lamar might have to look over his shoulder at some point.

Then Jamil Douglas. I like how strong he is. Doesn't wait, he goes and gets it. Well coached. Great pulling and swinging. If asked to do simple things that play to his strength he could get playing time early if not start. Only thing I can see that might halt him from impacting this season is obviously the playbook. Solid selection.

But looking at his tape, I think Cedric Thompson is my favorite pick of em all. Everytime watch him, I know Im going to see something. Sometimes it isnt always conventional play, but he plays with such soul.

Lays it all out. Looks like a leader . The play speaks for itself I think:

I seriously do believe already right now he could be better than Delmas. And I like Delmas lol. But next to Jones we need some instinctive. Someone like Thompson who is awesome at free lancing and playing the field. Jones is a set player. In the box. Thompson compliments Jones so well.

With the offensive skill positions....This is the most loaded system Ive seen on that side. The defense struggled on the ground, and we found out Earl Mitch was not Randy Starks 2.0. HA

Still an outstanding defensive line. Running the 5-2 can really cancel our MLB woes and provide great 3-man rotations throughout the front 7. The secondary to me was, is, and remain my only concern. Forget linebacker, who's covering OBJ or D. Thomas, D. Smith, those dudes out in Buffalo (my god).

We'll see but I just wanted to express how refreshing and taken back by our organization this entire off-season. Haven't had too many days like those. The entire draft by Miami was a joy to watch.

Great write up, I agree with pretty much everything you've said.

I also love spades, me and my buddy play people for money down here lol.

You must be good...thats how I learned (by my aunt believe it or not). Had to pick up on it , cause practice wasn't even free lol

Personally, I haven't seen much of Thompson and I've heard nothing but negative things about the pick. I'm not going to judge a player on a brief highlight package, but he shows enough there physically that the negative reaction he inspired seems pretty unfounded. I'm excited about the pick.

Spades is nice but you might consider stepping up to Bid Whist then!
