He seems to be a good leader already. I see him slowly right now building confidence in a few players ie matt moore, david gerrard, charles clay, slaton.... You can tell he kinda already has a good idea of who does what good and who needs improvement. He always talks about his system which is refreshing comparable to the prior regime who pretty much had one philosphy (run the bal but kept rotating the o line and wasnt even successful at it. He seems to be a more personable guy seeing him joking around with pat surtain on the finsider interview. Looks like you can pretty much trust him that he knows how to run things and be successful at it. I liked the way he spoke as if we were already in the playoffs..."Im thinking of naming team captains on a weekly basis and as we prepare for the playoffs let the players vote"...he didnt say if we make the playoffs he will let the players choose...all this guy knows is winning so this has to rub off and change the culture, im hoping atleast... what yall think?

I agree. I think a winning menality, and coming from a highly successful organization is a huge deal. We really needed this. I think it also gives players confidence that their head coach has a super bowl ring. He's been there, done that, and that alone demands respect and faith in philosophy.

I'm with you Naps. So far I am very impressed with Joe Philbin. He is very well spoken, and carries himself with a very quiet confidence that is infectious. The more I see and hear, the more impressed I am. I am hesitant to get too over-confident simply because we have been down this road before, and have ended up getting burned.

There just seems to be a different aire or confidence about him that makes me feel like this was a very, very good hire. Far better than Fisher for sure. Through FA so far we have all pretty much shook our heads at the Dolphins moves and trades. But, at this point, in Philbin I trust.

I had my doubts, but listening to him, I really like him. What a refreshing change from tony, and his stupid sunglasses.

I am starting to buy into our new coach as well. However being around winners all the time can have one of TWO outcomes. Saban had a lot of that going for him also. Sometimes it becomes overwhelming when you see things NOT working as fast to turn them around as you had hoped. It can become frustrating when you don't see it happen in one season. This isn't a one season turn around, and there are alot of reprograming that has to go one before we can get headed back in the right direction. Not trying to be a debbie downer, just reminding everyone AND myself to cut him some slack and give him a chance before we drop the weight of the world on his shoulders for us not being in the SB by the end of the season.

There's a lot to like about him. One thing I worry when we start comparing us to GB. Over there the packers is all they have. Fans love their team and it is a football town. Down in Miami we have 4 major league teams and the good buzz is with The Heat and The Marlins. We don't fill up the place with our fans. We're building this team once again from the bottom up. The owner is learning on the job. Most people hate the GM and Philbin is the new hope at this point. It is a lot to take for a first time HC. I sure hope he can do it but he's going to need some help. I'm so hoping we have agreat draft cause we really need it.

Ozzy rules!!

He seems pretty low key. He's a cerebral type coach, totally different from the list of post-Shula coaches.

It will be an interesting season that's for sure. I can't wait till the draft.

I will say that Ross seems to really be getting his sea legs, finally. He is starting to sound like an NFL owner in that last posted interview he did. The bad news is that all the other teams got better in the AFC East. Buffalo is now like the Dolphins North with Wannsteadt and Chan Gailley.

We fell in love with Saban, we fell in love with Cameron, we fell in love with Sparano.

We are like a fat girl that falls in love with anyone that shows us any affection,

It's really nice to understand verbatim what the head coach is saying, instead of trying to decipher through Sparona's transcripts, which was like trying to figure out the human genome.
