Dear Year 2009,

I understand that in this day and age, anyone with a computer has a voice. I know that message boards were created for people to interact with each other, be it peacefully, for talking trash or for posting pics of hot chicks. The one thing that seems constant on FH are the posts that complain about a lack of respect to the team, be it from Randy Cross, John Clayton, ESPN, Pete Prisco, Chris Berman, or any no name writer from Baltimore, Boston, etc....

Some may look at my writing as a guy complaining about others who complain. Maybe, but to me, it's more of an observation. I wish FH would have a thread/sticky solely devoted to those posters who feel the need to complain about Vinnie Iyer of TSN.com thinking the Phins suck. I mean really, how dare he not be hardcore like us right? Folks don't seem to realize that not everyone is a Dolphins fan. Some are hardcore fans of the teams they grew up with, and some are fairweather fans who play the popular card with whichever team is hot at the moment. Deion Sanders apparently picked the Dolphins to not only lose the division but apparently trashes the team at any cost he can get. Oh no, the nerve of a guy paid for his opinion. An opinion, like every other single opinion out there (and I mean EVERY SINGLE ONE) that bears NO meaning on the Miami Dolphins.

One example being bloggers and the media pointing out that the Dolphins had a soft schedule. We know these things apply to reality in regards to the Phins.

1. You play who you're scheduled to play, period.
2. Due to the Phins being 1-15, it's always been customary that a last place team play a last place schedule.
3. Tony Sparano, Chad Pennington, Bill Parcells, Jeff Ireland, Joey Porter and every other member of the team I can almost guarantee don't give one damn about what the media or anyone else has to say. They know the game is played on the field. The ONLY relevant fact is what teams are good record wise and what teams are not. The ONLY thing that matters is who is in the playoffs and who isn't. The ONLY thing that matters is who is in/won the Super Bowl and who didn't.

Sure without the internet/media we wouldn't have FH but I think the media has poisoned almost everyone with how freely opinions get tossed around. Predictions, power polls, ESPN First Take, Mike and Mike, PTI, Around the Horn, ESPN Primetime, ESPNEWS....NONE of these shows are relevant to sports. Think about it, every single word that is spoken on these shows every single day has no bearing on whatever teams are playing each other. Yet these words cause such a fuss every week.

Oh, I also must apologize to FH due to the trolls that frequent the site every time "their" team plays the Phins. Although this year hasn't been as bad as years past, we've only had a few round of trolls come in. It might just always amaze me that individuals would find a website they really have no true interest in, create a login and then spend their precious time on the site with the sole intention on talking **** to everyone on the board. This phenomenon is one of the few mysteries of life I haven't been able to solve.

Anyway, Year 2009, I just wanted you to know that I love Finheaven. I appreciate every dedicated poster on it and all it's done for me as an out-of-town Dolfan. I'd be lost without the site and it's great members. I hope we can continue to build the site to prominence as we shake off the naysayers and trolls along the way like ticks on a camper's arm.

Thanks for listening Year 2009, we look to improve our ways and become all you expected us to be.

You can't make a long post like that with your sig.
I started thinking that I want more rain in home games in 09.

One more thing. Fans overlooking opponents or talking about the next game has no bearing on the team whatsoever. The are focusing on the current week regardless of what we are talking about.

But if we can't talk about our Opinions what is there to talk about...Facts only get you so far, facts don't get you excited, aroused, happy, or jubilant about the road in front of you.

If the only thing that matters is who won the super bowl or not then I guess that means Dan Marino is irrelevant...

Opinions whether accepted or not, is what makes this site work and what gives thousands of sports casters a job in a weak economy. Sports are fun to talk about, and if you aren't allowed to talk smack whether your team is 1-15 or 15-1 then how how much more fun is there in sports.

keeping you excitement to yourself is pretty lame...I guess what I mean is I don't see your point.
